In 1946, Churchill gave his famous "Iron Curtain" speech; lamenting how Eastern Europe had fallen under Stalin's dictatorship. Were he alive today, Churchill might give a "Bronzer Curtain" speech; lamenting how the USA has fallen under the control of Trump's dictatorship.

If Ukraine held elections today at least 500,000 Ukrainians in the occupied areas wouldn't be able to vote. Also, UA can't hold elections when bombs and missles are raining down. During WW2, the UK held no elections until Nazi Germany was defeated.

If a public statement by the second in command of the USA, that he wants to jail a Democratic senator, doesn't force at least that Senator out into the streets, leading a crowd of hundreds of thousands, then what will? We'll soon be a country where opposition leaders are jailed. Just like Russia.
