I'm trying to remember a bit of near-future sci-fi I read where the protagonist gets taken to a market in a flooded London. Has anyone got any idea which book it is from?

Trying to work out what I need to do to update the bios on my PC motherboard so I can upgrade the processor. Brain hurts

One thought out of the power outages in Europe. You may be able to pay for stuff if you have cash but no supermarket is going to be able to tell you how much to pay for your basket full of stuff without power. It'll also be really dark inside.

Hive mind, #histsky, Do I know anyone who is an expert on marriage and divorce law especially as it affected women and their property in the 1920s in the UK? (Reposts appreciated.)

In the village I grew up in there was a chap who always wore identical clothes, would know the entire new bus timetable by heart within 24 hours of publication, worked for the Inland Revenue and never took any leave. But autism didn't exist!

Can any disabled people recommend bidet toilet seats that you can add to regular toilets but which are relatively stable?

I wonder who got to hit the dead pope with a hammer and ask him if he was sleeping?

Happy Easter

Any idea of photo orgs in the UK who are actually interested in British documentary photography? I want to put my EDL photo book out, but I don't want to crowdfund it myself given the content and subject matter. It's 15 years since I was commissioned to make it by a Fotodok, a Dutch photo org

Fellow wheelchair users, has anyone got any recommendations for holiday locations. Looking for warmth and sunshine in September. Just need level access and hotel room big enough to manoeuvre in

This disability lark is getting tedious now. Born with one, acquired another in my 30s, doubled down on that in my 50s and now have an incurable condition that's arrived since Christmas. Definitely need a break

Oddly specific dream last night involving Victor bombers

Big win yesterday. Saw the diabetes professor and he was really pleased with how i was managing it. They don't want to see me regularly but I can call them if I need to. Not bad considering it's not even 2 months since I left hospital!

Another fabulous hospital waiting area with no wheelchair space. I'm having to block a doorway. It was that or block the corridor

Hospital having an arse/elbow day. Had appt for Monday at Haslemere. Get letter for same clinic, same day and time at Guildford. Just had call asking me if I was attending Haslemere on Monday as that's the right one apparently

Going to school for disabled kids is a gift that keeps giving. Just found out a classmate is dying of bladder cancer. That's the second one out of a year group of 30. Definitely much higher incidence than the general population

Film camera types, especially from the UK, I'm trying to find out what my first camera was. All I can remember was it was a 110 camera from Dixons, probably own brand. Manual wind and used flash cubes. Bought around 1975. Came in a box very like this. Not sure if this was the model I had

Carers Allowance is £83.30 per week. You're eligible if you care for someone who gets PIP & if you care for 35hrs+ a week. You get £83.30 even if, like me, you care for more than 1 person. If disabled people lose PIP then their carer will lose their Carers Allowance. #autism #FragileX #epilepsy

"No one is targeting disabled people." Yes, they are. Any tightening of benefits will disproportionately harm the most vulnerable. It's on purpose.
