The small liberal arts colleges and the regional publics that stuck their necks out to sign the amicus briefs the Jesuit schools were also signing, while all the Ivies and R1s (except MSU!) caved or sat silent, would also like a word.

Glad to see FT making space for more expensive, human-centric education. Montessori uses rubrics, not to grade the child per se, but to ensure that they have well-rounded exposure to, engagement with, and ultimately confidence enough to demonstrate mastery of materials in the prepared environments.

Politicians seem to be in wilfully conflating an AI being trainable with an ability to think critically and flexibly to produce solutions to problems. AI can only act as a mirror of those processes once they've already been done by people. What will train the AI if people stop doing them?
