My “mobile” gaming rig for the next few months: a Beelink GTi13 and EX Pro Dock (with an RTX 4070 Super and 2 TB m.2 drive). It was cheaper than buying a gaming laptop, will perform significantly better, and it takes up much less space than my full-size gaming rig.

All I know is that I better fucking get my usual 30 dolls for Christmas

Azure Managed DevOps Pools are pretty slick. Getting on-demand scaling without needing to mess with self-hosted AKS agents (or spending a small fortune on MS hosted agents) is really neat. It’s also surprisingly simple to set up from scratch. #DevOps #AzureDevOps #ADO

you don't need chatGPT i am perfectly capable of drinking a bottle of water and lying to you

I didn't watch this until today and my Kindle is unfortunately on v5.18.1 of the firmware, so I can't jailbreak it using the method in the video :( www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qtk7... On the bright side, the devs on the jailbreak Discord seem optimistic that they'll be able to crack it soon.

I love it when employers install creepware #surveillance nonsense because they have zero respect for their employees, and end up publishing two million internal screenshots to the web instead, leaking their most sensitive information. Very nice, no issues. #cybersecurity #infosec #assholeBoss […]

Factory work is soul crushing and brain atrophying. I listened to podcasts for my entire shift to stay sane. I was one of the lucky folks that got to switch stations a few times throughout my shift (so I wasn’t doing literally the exact same thing for the entire day). The pay sucked too.

Bummed but not surprised by this news: www.theverge.com/news/652797/...

"Today’s builders of Babel tell us that there is no room for losers, and that those who fall along the way are losers. Theirs is the construction site of hell." [Pope Francis, 18 April 2025]

what do you want

TFW you want to jam out to the new Sleigh Bells album but Spotify is down 💔

Oh wow. This just in from a CISA spokesperson: “The CVE Program is invaluable to cyber community and a priority of CISA. Last night, CISA executed the option period on the contract to ensure there will be no lapse in critical CVE services. We appreciate our partners’ and stakeholders’ patience.”

Locking down your phone, being mindful of what you're wearing, and coming up with plans to communicate with others are all key steps to take before attending a protest.

Why is configuration management such a pain in the ass #devops

The mental health benefits of drinking beer in the garage while working on your car cannot be overstated

www.theverge.com/news/638147/... Big fan of this weird show #CommonSideEffects

you either die a hero or live long enough to become a technical consultant

*walks into home office this morning* *homelab server fans are 100% for no apparent reason*

Big fan of the Mx Mechanical Keyboard, but whatever lube they used for the switches is a magnet for cat hair. Compressed air isn’t enough to get it out either— you have to physically remove it (with tweezers). Very annoying.

Some things never change

Cutting open a bag of potting soil like it's a kilo of coke on Miami Vice

Homepage released a new version (v1.0.0) with a new required env variable (HOMEPAGE_ALLOWED_HOSTS) a few days ago: github.com/gethomepage/... If you use watchtower to keep your homelab containers automatically updated, your homepage dashboard probably shows a "Host validation failed" error #homelab

really do hate this stupid asshole causing massive economic damage and making our closest neighbor and ally justifiably hate us for literally no reason. don’t really have anything more clever to say about it. don’t like him!

TFW it is actually “I’ve lost my trash can” weather

This sucks.

MFW someone mentions doing “manual” cloud infra changes
