The experience of poverty goes beyond a very low income. It also includes things like getting proper nutrition, having access to electricity, and attending school. To capture this broader reality, researchers from Oxford University and the UN developed the Multidimensional Poverty Index.

Congratulations to Moldova's National Bureau of Statistics on releasing a national Multidimensional Poverty Index for Moldova, in partnership with UNDP Moldova & OPHI. Alongside the release, a workshop was held to introduce the national MPI & accompanying analytical report to the policy community.
