This has been giving me anxiety before I go to sleep tbh

Cannot tell you how many in Silicon Valley shared various hot takes with me about never investing in women At one event, I asked if a VC passed because the woman's hair happened to be blue. He said no, because he doesn't really invest in women, he just dates them. He took meetings to find dates.

Organizational life is about to get much weirder. This paper creates an early form of meeting delegates, where you send an AI to a meeting on your behalf, and it uses your voice and knowledge to advance your goals A lot of old organizational methods need to be rethought for AI or they will collapse

I have to admit that I've been surprised at the level of hate at AI LLMs. There is finally a tool that allows those without access to an advanced education to self learn, anywhere , anytime. To get answers to questions, (even if sometimes wrong) , that they would otherwise never have access to

Honestly a great framework - the more accurate it needs to be, the less likely AI is the tool for the task (for now)

šŸšØ BREAKING NEWS: #Polkadot launches the first-ever #blockchain course for policymakers! UK MPs to attend a 3-day training in Zug, Switzerlandā€™s #Crypto Valley (April 6-8, 2025). With crypto regulation heating up, this initiative ensures informed decision-making on #Web3! #Defi

In summary, #Web3 is diversifying beyond finance into social, storage, and governance, driven by community-centric models and anti-monopoly ethos. Success hinges on balancing decentralization with usability and navigating an uncertain regulatory landscape.

Second week at the new job. Mentioned an interview that I canā€™t stop thinking about to a teammate ā€“ turns out he interviewed the same guy a couple years ago. #web3 is fascinating, I am absolutely not an expert, and Iā€™m so lucky to be in a room of people who are. #StayHumble

Setting my new jobā€™s Slack notification noise to Hummus to honor my culture

ByteDance appears to be skirting US restrictions to buy Nvidia chips. They plan to buy 7 billion dollars of chips in 2025. I predict 20% of Nvidia's revenue will come from China next year. Most recently it was at 17%. U.S. export restrictions appear to have failed. Multiple workarounds.

Numbering technology just gets sad after a while. Imagine getting excited about PlayStation 14 or iPhone 39. Stop it.

What do you think about this? Do you think it will drive value or further degrade quality on the platforms? #ai

iPhones from Gen 15 & 16 have an awesome feature But itā€™s not Apple Intelligence Itā€™s the action button Set it to launch ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode (now with live video too!) This is 10x more useful than anything ā€œApple Intelligenceā€

I hate when science confirms what I already think to myself:

I think the phrase ā€œhallucinationā€ is totally useless but itā€™s especially useless if it now includes ā€œdirecting medical models for the sake of tracking cancer.ā€ www.nytimes.com/2024/12/23/s...

Thermochromic Thermochromic art style incorporates elements that change color based on temperature, creating dynamic and interactive visuals that shift with environmental or tactile changes. Prompt see ALT

State of the software industry.

My strongest wish is that the structural requirements of technologies be taken seriously as essential to understanding their potential consequences and benefits, rather than viewed as side issues to be addressed later or indefinitely spun out of the way by industry PR.

OK an update on my journey integrating AI into Obsidian - Smart Connections is still behaving weirdly with the embedded model (m3 macbook)... But Copilot for Obsidian is AMAZING. Setting up #chatGPT 4o-mini with RAG capabilities has made it indispensable for research...

I desperately need an #ai that embeds into my journals and notes to give me personal and professional insight Yes I know extensions for obsidian exist, but they are misbehaving @__@

Iā€™ve been a little quiet on here. But just know that something big will be happening soon šŸ˜‰

The AI agent spectrum Separating different classes of AI agents from a long history of reinforcement learning. Why we can be optimistic for AI agents but also extremely critical of the terrible communications around them to date. Plus, some policy guidance.

100% in agreement with this. I think itā€™s going to be an amazing tool but thorough testing is required.

This is huge. A non profit is actually doing this in underserved communities in Africa so that they can learn without having access to internet or laptops

I think #Adobe firefly has something like this, but this is a bit more versatile! Excited to play with it and see what concepting ideas I can come up with.

Adobe Premiere needs a dumbass mode, where you can use it like normal to do the things you know how to do but then can switch to an iMovie or CapCut-like editor to do things that are so annoying and bad on premiere like adding captions/scene transitions/text cards

It's funny because people think this is the sign of lower intelligence but if you develop a good eye for hallucinations... it is an imperfect, but helpful tool. Yeah don't replace your lawyer with #ClaudeAI. But if you can't afford a lawyer, maybe Claude can help you decide if you need one.

LinkedIn becoming an AI-auto comments infested site. Hereā€™s a profile that does hundreds of LLM comments per day. LinkedIn is clearly happy as they see (on paper) user engagement. Yet it quietly destroys the site. The profile: www.linkedin.com/in/noahswide... (One of many!)

One of the things that I've been working on lately is how to communicate the necessity of learning #AI tech over the coming years to skeptics. I think the key is to focus on some of the really amazing things that AI can do (without gaslighting or denying the scary stuff, either).

Coinbase actively pays super PACs to rig our govt & prevent crypto regulation. I made some money from #crypto years ago, but I wouldnā€™t touch it now. I know of someone who lost $5 million in a pig butchering #scamā€¦ Social engineering is scary good these days. Itā€™s not worth it for me.
