I’m the weird kid from your west Texas third grade class who grew up and got a Ph.D. in terrible things, germs, and dirty hospitals. Some might even consider me a leader of erstwhile honorable mentions and organizer of noble schemes. Texas Tech Alum!

I mean yes, there is such a concept in Christianity. It appears quite notably in the letters of Paul, for instance, where it’s a concept he *relentlessly* argues against, and in the Gospel where it’s a concept Jesus very much repeatedly scorns. So it is technically in there!

Evil always carries within itself the germ of its own subversion in that it leaves behind in human beings at least a sense of unease. —Dietrich Bonhoeffer

“Dwarfism” is not an intellectual disability, folks. Geezus.

Please don't wait for those mythical golden times, don't postpone joy until you achieve perfect health, don't delay until you've secured your dream career, don't hold back until you've found the ideal partner- take action now. NOW is the perfect time to begin your journey of finding joy. Gurdeep.org

Fact-checking wasn’t “biased” against conservatives. Conservatives just shared more false content. If there’s a sportsball game and one team fouls four times as much, it’s not “biased” for the ref to call four times as many fouls against that team.

As climate change increases the risk of dry conditions and fire weather, fires across western NAm are bigger, more dangerous, and burning greater area. It’s the difference between accidentally dropping a match into a pile of green, wet wood versus dropping it into a stack of bone dry kindling.

I have a Ph.D. in history—granted the focus is the history of medicine, but still I had never heard of this until today and I’m taken back by the gap in my own knowledge. Just another good example we all have room to grow in our education. www.whitehousehistory.org/the-pearl-in...

Excited to share my completely rebuilt* Climate & Health starter pack featuring 130+ researchers, writers, medical professionals, and orgs dedicated to exploring the intersection of climate change & human health. Click here to follow some (or all) ⬇️ * the original pack got over-written by Bluesky

I'm currently building a starter pack on a critical topic: the role of finance in driving climate resilience, mitigation, and a circular economy. Investors, financial experts, development banks, researchers, innovators: who’s leading the charge in this space? Give me your top recommendations!

I can’t look at a picture of these two without getting all the feels…

At the dealership waiting for a software update to finish because my car hasn’t been recognizing me lately. I guess this is like couple’s therapy for my Subaru.

Some reading recommendations from the @TexasObserver, including @christabrown.bsky.social's BAPTISTLAND: A Story of Abuse, Betrayal, and Transformation www.texasobserver.org/books-list-2...

Even if we live to be 100 years old, our entire lifetime is just a blink of an eye compared to Earth's 4.5 billion years of existence. Why waste our precious time on negativity and hating our fellow travellers who share this brief journey with us? Let's find joy instead.

Holy cow! There’s a lot more folks over here since I last poked my head in the door.

This is my second post.

Crap, gotta learn another new social media. Oh well, let’s just kick it off like we did back in the hey day of live journals and my spaces and say…”The oqster rides again!”
