Just spent my entire day at the airport. My flight was delayed for hours until it was eventually cancelled. Hopefully the rest of the honeymoon isn’t gonna be like this! On the upside I started reading one piece and that was rad.

Just finished the indie game Nine Sols. The game is fantastic, totally recommend it to anyone that likes Metroidvanias or super slick 2D combat. The spiritual cyberpunk aesthetic is also super sick. Definitely can’t wait to see what else Red Candle Games makes next!

One of my friends is going through the Kingdom hearts games for the first time so I’ve been playing the games alongside him so we can experience them together. Just beat KH1 and did everything in the game. Sephiroth had me spooked.

The wife asked for a horror movie with blood and guts and action. I presented Evil Dead 2. It’s fun, it’s fantastic and damn is it just well paced. Probably one of my favorite movies.

Just beat Split Fiction with my wife. Josef Fares doesn’t miss with his games! This and It Takes Two are seriously some of my wife’s and I’s favorite games! The last chapter is just peak creativity. If you have the means, pick it up! You won’t regret it.

The wife and I watched Apollo 13 tonight. We haven’t seen it since junior high. Damn does this movie hold up. Also, it’s making me kind of want to play Starfield out of all things because of the NASA aesthetic.

My cat has one defense mechanism when we go to the vet. She doesn’t claw, or bite, or even hiss. She poops herself. She had to be taken to the back to “clean her up.” I’m sorry poor girl.

Spent most of my Saturday hanging out with friends and playing Kingdom Hearts 1 on the hardest difficulty. I never realized it till now but KH1 prepared me for the difficulty of souls games. The game is relentless on these higher difficulties. 10/10 game. The gummi ship still sucks though.

I completely missed the Paranormal Activity craze when those movies came out, so my wife has taken it upon herself to show me the whole franchise. We watched the second movie last night. Just gonna say, if you have an Abuela telling you there are spirits and shit, you better listen to her.

So uh, I think I tried to forget we watched Exorcist Believer last week. I’m not gonna sugar coat it, the movie felt mid. Child actors were good. Visuals were great. The actual plot? Dog water. The characters? Hog water. Honestly just watch the OG Exorcist because it’s fantastic.

Been on a movie kick these last couple of weeks. Last night we didn’t know what to watch so we put on our favorite comfort movie, Jurassic Park. Like, maybe it’s low hanging fruit to say it’s my favorite movie but damn, it’s just a great time.

A couple weeks ago, we watched Late Night With the Devil and I feel like I’ll be crucified for this but it was not my jam. Like, on paper I should really love this movie, but the characters fell flat, and the actual horror elements were too sparse.

After watching Cyrano, the wife and I needed some dumb fun. So we put on Totally Killer, which is essentially “what if back to the future was a slasher flick?” It’s fun, it’s wacky. It’s no Halloween or anything, but I had fun and that’s all I needed from it.

After reading Steam reviews for FF7 Rebirth, I can’t help but feel like media literacy is dead. Literally saw a review talk about how OG FF7 wasn’t political like this new remake. My dude, you’re literally an eco terrorist in that game. It’s inherently political!

People that think 2024 was a bad year for video game releases are wack. Between FF7 Rebirth, Metaphor, Astro Bot, SH2, Indiana Jones, Helldivers, and the Elden ring dlc, that opinion just feels wrong. And don’t even get me started on the indies this year. We’re swimming in top tier games.
