I think Americans, blessed with relatively stable government for a long time, assume there is someone, some adult, who will step in and make things right before the President does anything REALLY bad. There’s not.

Probably not a target of MAGA's ire, but I'm glad right now that NASA PDS is a federated organization with (at least for the time being) websites and archives controlled directly by discipline nodes, rather than NASA itself.

a concentration camp doesn't have to be a death camp to be deadly; the combination of negligence, underfunding, and legal grey zones creates an extremely high 'natural' death rate whether it's the Chinese in Xinjiang or the British in Kenya, as well as rampant possibility for abuse.
