Uploaded a provisional review of migrant moths at Portland in 2024. Decent enough year, perhaps just lacking one or two real high grade rarities; highlights: 7 new species for the island + record annual totals of Olive-tree Pearl, Gem and Scarce Bordered Straw drive.google.com/file/d/1NLc-...

Just 2 #moths #teammoth last night at Ormesby in the mist . A lovely Mottled Umber NFY and LBAM , it’s a start ! @norfolkmoths.bsky.social

Near Ormesby I watched a Male Marsh Harrier flying around. It then saw a Mallard carcass in the field, which it then tried to fly off with, unfortunately it was to heavy. It then proceeded to rip it apart in the company of 2 Carrion Crows.

A walk down the beach didn’t produce much so decided to give Ormesby broad a look , it was frozen over but a lovely Kingfisher sat patiently in the only open part. At Clippesby/Oby there were 41 Crane near a maize crop, great to hear there “whooping” the most I’ve seen #NorfolkBirds

#moths are simply stunning, Part 2 the macros, so many to choose from in 2024 with 13 nfgarden. A long awaited first being Lesser Swallow Prominent one that eluded me for years! Here’s to many more for us all in 2025 #teammoth #ukmoths @norfolkmoths.bsky.social @norfolknats.bsky.social

#moths in numbers 2024 at Ormesby St.Margaret , Norfolk. 78 trapping nights saw 10,334 with 64 nfgarden of which 30 nfsquare and amazingly 1 new for Norfolk and UK! Garden list now 546 species. Part 1 #micromoths @norfolkmoths.bsky.social @norfolknats.bsky.social #teammoth #mothsuk

Happy New Year #teammoth! I've been working on the first complete moth website for Durham alongside a few others, the result of which is here. I hope it is useful and interesting to recorders in the area and beyond! There are, no doubt, improvements/corrections– if you spot anything, do let me know.

#moth trap Christmas Eve saw 3 LBAM and a Mottled Umber #teammoth @norfolkmoths.bsky.social Walk in the mist on beach at 2nd Ave Caister Boxing Day saw 32 Pinkfeet flying around disoriented, calling Golden Plover , Buzzard the best #norfolkbirds

Moth-trapping, at Trebujena Marshes, Cadiz Province, Spain, 12th November 2024. A real star winter moth; Lemonia philopalus. #spanishmoths #teammoth www.facebook.com/permalink.ph...

Was getting withdrawal symptoms with the #moths so a milder night on Thursday saw the MV in action. Mottled umber, December Moth, Winter moth, Eudonia Angustea and Acleris Notana/ferrungana agg. Scarce Umber still remains elusive 🤞 @norfolkmoths.bsky.social @norfolknats.bsky.social #teammoth

Dichromodes personalis I may have given a squeal of delight when this beautiful #moth came to the UV light last night. Found in the south west of Western Australia, this moth has pale brown forewings with very distinctive dark brown markings #mothsmatter #teammoth #ausinverts #wildoz #inaturalist
