And so many will only enter your space when invited in, never inviting you into theirs or otherwise. And that’s why I’m afraid to reach out to new people now. I feel like I’ll be sucked dry and discarded yet again, and I just can’t handle the strain of the cycle anymore

I think of how many people I reached out to when they were new, who I helped and guided and who seemed genuinely thankful. Many of them didn’t bother following me back in the move here, funnily enough. Guess I’m beneath them now.
