I've discovered an unexpected red flag in people but so far it seems to be accurate. Be wary of people who quote Bane from that batman movie.

Tonight I will partake in my people's tradition of standing around a huge fire and singing songs. Like many traditions, it is unclear what the purpose is.

Making some progress in my touch interface for kontrajs. Added a drawer with drag/droppable icons for different nodes.

I'm thinking of waiting with introducing my students to Unity for the first couple of days and teaching programming fundamentals in a minimal c# game framework. Day 1-2: building an asteroids clone to learn classes, variables, for loops, etc. Love to get some framework suggestions!

Do you ever get the feeling that maybe you already bought that game? But you can't remember in which store you bought it? Even worse if the game is cross platform. Did I play in PC/Console/Mobile? Is there a tool to keep track of all your games? I know there are for PC but I mean across platforms

I redrew my kiwi

I'm starting to think that maybe I shouldn't be making a game in unity in my free time and also develop a touch programming interface for kontrajs. Work Family Game Dev Tool Dev Sleep Pick any 3 🤪

This was more effort than I'd like to admit but I finally got some basic sprite and rendering functionality up on kontrajs using visual scripting instead of javascript. Now that I've figured out kind of how to wrangle lightgraphjs to map it to kontra functions I hope it will speed up development. 😊

I've started working on a touch first interface to build games on my tablet. Inspired by the light weight lua game engines. But you know, touch friendly. #gamedev

I'm playing Eastward and if I had known it was going to be this good I would have picked it up a long time ago. Love the mix of story and gameplay. LOVE the writing ❤️

Made a stoat to potentially be in my game as an enemy. I don't think I made him look mean enough though 🤔

My 13 year old and their friend have now made their characters for the adventure. A cleric and a rogue. I'm unfamiliar with the combat dynamic in dnd; do you think they need a tank? I'm super excited for this! I hope they will have a good time. ❤️

celebrating fat tuesday today by eating a Semla. Also found out that "fettisdagen" is called "mardi gras" in french. Guess we took it in another direction...

I feel like I would enjoy being a witch in the woods sometimes.

My 13 year old wants me to DM a DnD game for him and his friends. He has played other ttrpgs but his friends has not. What's a good beginner adventure? I'm leaning towards "Dragons of Stormwreck Isle" since that is included in the starter set but I'm open to suggestions.

I did the thing. Not sure what to do with this information though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 🟧 🟨🟩 🟩🟩🟩 🟨🟩🟧🟩 🟩🟩🟨🟨🟥 🟥🟩🟨🟩🟩🟩 Percentile: 87.49 datcreativity.com

Yesterday I played around with 2d joints. Despite of using unity for a long time I haven't actually needed them before. Took me longer than I'd like to admit bc of assumptions. Anyways, This is a trap door. Built with a hinge joint on the right side and a spring joint on the left side.

Balloons can now be popped. Playing around with a new background.

I've started painting with acrylics on canvas recently with my daughter. It's a nice pallet cleanser to help me stop hyper focusing on gamedev and burning out. 10/10, can recommend.

Here's some jobs, go get 'em! 💼

Given that the goal of my game will be to always keep moving up I think each layer of my parallax background needs to stay with the player for a while. I'm thinking of maybe using some kind of texture for each section to keep it more interesting. What do you think? #concept #gamedev

In today's blunders of #gamedev I made a background in multiple layers for that parallaxing goodness. But something felt off when testing it in engine. I'm realizing now that I made a background with horizontal elements for my mainly vertical game...

Balloons in, good enough for now. #gamedev

We're also looking for folks that would be up to creating video guides for Grimoire Groves, so the players have the best possible start once the game launches. Anyone interested? 👀

PROJECT REVEAL! We're a video game podcast where every episode is a slumber party. Tune in every other Monday to hear four women from around the game industry talk games, stories, & life advice. Spotify: tinyurl.com/59rxjh4w Apple: tinyurl.com/276vpwcx YouTube: tinyurl.com/bdcpca4k

I listen to gamedev podcasts but why is it 98% white men being interviewed? Surely there must be people of other ethnicities and genders in the games industry. I did enjoy the "She Plays Games" podcasts but there hasn't been a new episode in a long time. 😔 I'd love some recommendations!

Should I keep this balloon rotation or no? #gamedev #bugs

Implemented balloons for flying. Still need some work on the follow logic and rotation. #gamedev

I don’t hear much about assembly definitions in #Unity. They let you split your code into separate sections, so when you change something, Unity only recompiles the affected section instead of everything. Nifty once your project starts growing! #gamedev 🥳💭🤖

Sometimes I see a game title that makes me want to play the game even though I know nothing else about it. Two games from the top of my head: 💃Crypt of the Necrodancer 🥔Turnip boy commits tax evasion I feel like a lot of #gamedev 's don't spend enough time on their titles.

Poking around with creating some shapes and level geometry feeling. #gamedev

Made a sprite shape only to realize my sprite does not tile 😂 #gamedev

Wrote a state machine for my player so that I could easier make the grounded/flying movement separation. #gamedev

Relaxing with my dog on the couch. We're watching dog tv and I think we're in agreement that the dalmatian is out of line. 😁 Good times. 😊

Thinking about the player character for my game. Originally I was thinking flightless bird but I might be convinced to do chameleon... #gamedev

A balloon for my game. Do I want the handmade highlights or not? It has normal maps so they get affected by lighting. What do you guys think? I guess it looks weird when the light comes from another angle if I have handmade highlights? #gamedev
