I don’t know if anyone is playing Marvel Rivals, but it is amazing!!

Christianity is like having a gun that randomly explodes. It’s potentially useful for a scenario that probably doesn’t exist, but is mostly likely going to hurt you and others.

For profit insurance is a scam.

You will never be happy being someone else.

There is an inherent fear when it comes to processing trauma. The pain of working through something is almost never worse than the anguish of holding on. Be open and be kind to yourself.

Not having tight gun restrictions and then oppressing the majority of your citizens is a very volatile mixture.

If you’re looking for something out there, look inside first.

It seems really hard to not appoint sexual predators.

There is so much phony science used to attack the trans community. Don’t fall for it.

“What does God need with a starship?” -Captain James T. Kirk

Sex and gender discussions seem to frighten a portion of our society. Fear is never an excuse to treat a group of people poorly.

We have to resist the next four years and demand real change going forward. Healthcare, minimum wage, and paid leave are all huge issues that matter to a broad spectrum of people.

Let’s vote for a horrible person and expect them to not do horrible things. This is not logic.

“How can we know anything?” is what people say when they have no real argument. It is the fallback answer for those who cannot justify their belief.

If someone says something inappropriate, ask them “ What do you mean?”. It’s a good way to call someone out without being aggressive or confrontational.

I believe that sexual abusers have no place in positions of authority. They seek out those positions to protect themselves.

Immigrants are human beings. We should never demonize people for political gain. Diversity is our strength.

I prefer to attribute meaning to my own life. Purpose doesn’t need to be assigned by a creator. It can come from within.

Question those who tell you to hate.

If an ideology encourages you to hate someone for no reason, it is evil.

Things can always get better if good people stand together. Reject hate.

Both of my grandfathers fought fascism in WWII, and they would tell you that dictators have no place in this country.

In tumultuous times it is important to know what you believe. Do your beliefs benefit only you, or do they also help the people around you?

Kindness is acidic to those full of anger.

I would rather know a painful truth than a comforting lie.

I think it’s very cool to change your mind when presented with good reasons to do so.

If we are unhappy with ourselves, another person or thing will not make us happy. It has to come from within.

When I was younger I thought happiness was a goal to be achieved and constantly maintained. I now believe that being content is the goal. The highs and lows are natural and impermanent.

If anyone feels their anxiety and depression rearing up, you are not alone. There are lots of resources out there, but I’m always open to talk as well.

Be the adult you needed as a child.

It takes more strength to be kind, more bravery to be open-minded.

A toothless justice system reinforces a class divide. Pay to win = the working class loses.

Is there a downside to being inclusive? I know some people are resistant to change, but that’s not an excuse for transphobia.

This is the first Thanksgiving where god wasn’t mentioned or discussed at my mom’s house.

If anyone feels isolated because of their families beliefs, you are not alone.

A new family tradition has emerged. We regale each other with the scam calls we’ve had throughout the year.

I don’t bow my head and pray, but I’m thankful for the food and friends.

The Bible is a self-defeating collection of documents.

For anyone on the fence about Christianity, I would recommend watching The Deconstruction Zone on YouTube. He does an excellent job explaining why the Bible is not a reason to believe. Happy Thanksgiving.

The first bit of doubt I experienced with my faith was the salvation experience. Despite my belief, I never felt anything when I asked Jesus to save me.

I have a friend who no longer believes in the Christian god, but still attends church. I wonder if there are a lot of people out there in a similar situation.

I admit that I wasn’t well-informed on trans issues before this election. I want to keep learning! I would highly recommend The Transatlantic Call In show. Episodes are available on YouTube and elsewhere.

I have a relative who voted for Trump. He said that Trump wants to be a dictator…but that the government won’t actually let him. How do you justify that??

Was this in your biology textbook growing up? #justfundiethings
