This study is really a Master Piece of my friends and colleagues @leootsuki.bsky.social and Elly Tanaka & colleagues. Thank to them, we now know how cells find a way to re-build the right part of the limb during regeneration! In addition to the Amazing Science, the article is so enjoyable to read!

Today, our PhD student Natalia G. Lavalle defended her PhD thesis on modelling the dynamics of cell populations and regenerating tissues, under the joint supervision of Tomas S. Grigera and myself. Congratulations, Dr. Lavalle!! Link to her viva (in Spanish): www.youtube.com/live/aUZZWjD...

Do you use 3D imaging like CT or MRI for research, teaching, outreach, or art? Check out our new article featuring a detailed workflow for producing 3D cinematic renderings―from tissue-level to whole-organism details―with stunning realism! doi.org/10.1016/j.is... @helsinkiuni.bsky.social

For PhD Students and Postdocs 📣 join us in a crash course on transitions in biological systems! Across theoretical models, developmental processes and species! Hands-on training on theory and experiments 🤩

Latest from the lab: a review led by @jamesehammond.bsky.social on the evolvability of vertebral counts and the developmental processes that make it possible.

I am recruiting an #ERC funded PostDoc to work on the evolution of vertebral counts in cichlids. This is an experimental project & will be looking for candidates with experience generating reporter lines, live-imaging and experimental embryology. Application deadline: 25th Feb. tinyurl.com/33jbu8fa

🤩Say hi to Alejandro Sánchez Alvarado @planaria1.bsky.social, a pioneer in the field of regenerative biology whose research has uncovered how some organisms can fully regenerate body parts (or entire bodies🤯)--his fundamental research has enormous implications for regenerative medicine. 1/

Are material phase transitions more than simple regulators of tissue deformability? Check our latest work uncovering that rigidity transitions can trigger cell polarity! Congratulations to @laura-rustarazo.bsky.social , @crisp-c.bsky.social and Adrián for leading this work!
