One of our littles had a birthday today, and asked for a watermelon cake. Well - I jumped in with both feet. First time I’ve tried #cakecarving and I am a very #amatuerbaker This is only my 5th or 6th really successful cake or cupcake, and thank you to the amazing friend who helped with stripes.

Rewatching the #PiratesoftheCaribbean films. I always knew I recognized Bootstrap Bill, but I didn’t realize it was Zaddy #StellanSkaarsgard until rewatching it now many years later. I love how well made these films are. Good date night for us two old theater nerds.

Call with a prospective private school for my little in half an hour, trying not to overthink. Even here in Western Washington state we aren’t free from homo- and transphobia along with the resultant harassment. No child should be “othered” by a teacher at school.
