Kai Ryssdal is not only a resident of Los Angeles but is a top reporter on NPR's Marketplace. He's not seeing what Trump is claiming. 😎

Carlos Alcaraz walks down the stairs to cheers from the Roland Garros ball kids High-fives and hugs all around. Too cute. 🥹

It was one helluva match, just amazing! #2 in the world Carlos Alcaraz vs the great #1 in the world Jannik Sinner, and they played to the bitter end. Congrats to Carlos and hearts to Sinner! 😍

In Trump's first reign General Mark Milley stopped him from using combat troops against the American people. Milley was deeply worried about Trump's fascist tendencies. Now there are no more checks and balances. Be careful my American friends.

Newsom: The Secretary of Defense is now threatening to deploy active-duty Marines on American soil against its own citizens. This is deranged behavior.

@cnn Thank you so much for airing the live Broadway play Goodnight and Good Luck about the iconic Edward R. Murrow and his rightful excoriation of the "Junior Senator from Wisconsin" Joseph McCarthy. It was excellent and yet another wake up call to us all about our own times.

George Clooney's Broadway play airs live tonight on CNN at 7pm ET. "Goodnight and Good Luck" is based on the scathing criticisms by CBS newsman Edward Murrow regarding the then dreadful, powerful Senator Joseph McCarthy and his witch-hunts for "Communists" in the 1950's.

Congratulations, Coco Gauff! First American to win Roland Garros since Serena Williams.

Super smart on the part of France to help - and learn from - the savvy Ukrainians.

Ready for my #caturday presentation. 😍.

Lol... And Musk's ominous comments about Trump being in the Epstein files came on the heels of Trump threatening to halt all federal contracts and agreements with Musk's companies. Pass the popcorn, please! 😎

Trump's and the House GOP's Big Ugly Bill, now under consideration by the Senate, actually includes provisions to eliminate vaccines for polio and measles. 🫩

Trump's Big, Ugly bill before the Senate now...what an outrage, indeed.

Ukraine is totally badass!! 🇺🇦 #SlavaUkraini

Trump now wants Palantir, a company associated with Elon Musk and extreme rightwinger Peter Thiel, to compile all available data on every American. Former Palantir employees are urging against this. It's not the company’s technology, they say, but how the Trump administration intends to use it.

Oh wow...just tonight, the Court of International Trade ruled Trump exceeded his authority in imposing tariffs on all imported goods, calling an immediate halt to his signature trade war policy. Trump's already readying his appeal, but this is big news and a big wrench in his plans.

White House has instructed U.S. embassies to halt new student visa interviews, Politico reports, citing a diplomatic cable. All visa applicants will now first undergo social media screening. “What exactly officials are looking for has not been disclosed.” They do the same thing in Russia, FYI.

Musk is having yet another bad day. Boo hoo. 😎 His SpaceX company's latest Starship spacecraft launched ok but soon sprang a propellant leak, causing it to spin out of control. It was not able to survive the intense heat, breaking up as it fell back into the atmosphere. Yet another failure..

More evidence the Trump administration well earns its reputation for point-blank corruption.

BREAKING: No more Covid shots for kids and pregnant women

@cnn.com @jamestalarico.bsky.social This guy, Texas State Representative James Talarico, is one of the Democratic party's most talented politicians. He's a top notch communicator of Dem principles, much along the lines of Pete Buttigieg. I hope we see a whole lot more of him in years to come.

This is the woman who just got promoted to press secretary for the Department of Defense “Proud to be an enemy of globalist Ukraine”

Bathe me in it, Greenland 🇬🇱

This NYT article explains so clearly what's in this bill just passed by the House. This article link has no firewalls, too, so it can be read in its entirety. Pretty shocking what the House wants done with Medicaid, SNAP (food stamps) and clean energy programs...

We should be investing in rural communities and making them better places to build a life & raise a family - not shutting down rural hospitals by choking off their funding. Saving rural hospitals is one more reason to call your Representative and speak out against this GOP attempt to cut Medicaid.

Trump says sucks-to-be-you come this season's natural disasters. His "downsizing" the government actually results in the loss of essential warning systems and financial aid that Americans have come to rely on before, during and after natural disasters.

Israel planning an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities?? Good grief, let's hope that if this is happening, Trump (a maniac himself) and EU leaders get on the phone ASAP with that other maniac Netanyahu and put a quick end to this war-inducing plan.

Whoa.. Trump's "big, beautiful bill," if passed by the House and the Senate as currently proposed, would not only trigger huge cuts to Medicaid healthcare for the poor, but also huge cuts to Medicare healthcare for seniors.

Trump's "big, beautiful bill" in the House, if passed, would add even more big, ugly debt to the already huge US debt problems and would definitely cut Medicaid, food stamps, education and subsidies for clean energy.

House GOP is holding a hearing on their tax bill at 1:00 AM because they don't want us to know about their scheme to strip 13.7 million people of health coverage & they think no one will stay awake for it. I’ll be there, testifying & offering amendments to protect our families.

Call your senators. This bill is heading to them next and they can stop it if the people speak out. (202) 224-3121

NYT: “.. People making between about $51,000 and $17,000 could lose about $700 on average in after-tax income .. “By contrast, the top 0.1 percent, including those with incomes over $4.3 million, would gain on average more than $389,000 ..” @tonyromm.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/2025/05/16/u...

It's remarkable how much of this administration's agenda has been laser focused on simply making life worse for ordinary Americans.

Economists found that under the current Republican House proposal for the federal budget, many Americans who make less than $51,000 a year would see their after-tax income fall as a result of it.

The corruption never ends with Trump and his administration. His Attorney General Pam Bondi sold $1 million to $5 million worth of shares in Trump’s media company last month on the same day he announced expansive tariffs that led to a stock market rout.
