I’ve been busy. I love making old school maps (both overland and dungeon) will eventually add color.

Ah, …. Monday morning, portends a promising week.

Don’t know how I am going to make it through next two years, but this gives me hope there will be massive blowback. If the Constitution lasts that long.

Does anyone have a pitch to be made for Tales of the Valiant as a system. (It’s not like I don’t have enough systems already). What is its sweet spot? I really like Kobold Press, but have been missing the core pitch other than not WoTC or the licensing debacle.

This is kind of hilarious. I mean in my day to day I work with 100k’s rows of data on my pedestrian Lenovo in XLS and PBI, and know as a data analyst this “no big deal”. It also makes me think they are using Excel in a clumsy inarticulate way, vs a database and distributed computing.

Almost every year at Emerald City Comic Con (Seattle) first my eldest and then both my daughters would make a pilgrimage to Travis Hanson's table. My older daughter a developing artists and computer scientist would faithfully ask for new versions of a dragon, and then look on with wonder (1/2)

Three sessions into Curse of Strahd Campaign and two PC deaths. Is that like a 0.667 BA at the satrt of season in baseball? #rpg #DND #TTRPG And yes, the players are having a good time, why do you need to ask that. They always have a good time, its in campaign guide.

I really do live in a beautiful part of the world.

Love his blog, and love this take on D&D. I’m a fan of lower powered games or more fixed power ones too, but D&D scratches heroic gaming itch for me and as my current game evolves it keeps getting better.

On Tuesday this week my 5e D&D game, “They Met in a Bar” had its 50th session at Black Raven Brewing. They started in Homlet and after finishing ToEE have moved on to Against the Giants. Two are 10th lvl and four are 9th. It was epic and looking forward to their completing this arc

"[For the Right], D.E.I...is the mere presence of a woman or nonwhite person or disabled or transgender person in any high-skilled, high-status position. And their alternative isn’t some heretofore unknown standard of merit; it is the reintroduction of something like segregation." (gift link)

that’s right.

In 2017, Gen Con celebrated its 50th anniversary, and Peter Adkison set up a bunch of panels for it. Now those panels are streaming, one at a time on Gen Con TV. Two are already up, and the panel I'm on is somewhere in the queue. mailchi.mp/005ebc7ab70e...

www.nytimes.com/2025/01/26/o... I came across this today. Kind of captures the current politic. Sorry for paywall, but journalists have to eat.

Ran a game tonight, the group was up against Frost Giants (from second module of G series). They have been on a tear, but rather than withdraw they systematically worked their way deeper and right up to the cusp of disaster. At one point the Orc Barbarian who had already slipped death a hall pass

Kraken, bit early but I guess I will have to suffer through a Chuckanut pilsner

A brewery that caught the mood of the moment today

#Rimworld is a harsh mistress, but Randy I love you for keeping the games short.

Cleared a years worth of accumulated cardboard boxes from garage. I can almost park a car in half of it now.

It’s game night with Ingrid (Barbarian), Emeline (Wizard) and McKenna (Ranger). Trapped in Strahds game. Will they make it out of Death House? Without any…. Deaths?
