Well, I'd say that's it for us as a species. Everyone is gone, "dead internet" became "dead city" and no one noticed.

Ollie is helping me fight off a cold. Best wingman ever.

Fuck. Yes. I have to limit myself to only telling people "you should write!" on Fridays, cause otherwise I'd be screaming it every fucking day!

My view of the Space Needle.

"Cheese fridge, exhibit one", she smiled.

"to democratize art is not every person having a cute drawing made in seconds, to democratize art is every person having time and health to learn and make art if they chose to, and mainly to have the means to think and relate introspectively with art."

Daisies are back. :) I divided this last year so now have two going. 🌱

Laundry day + chapstick is life = this

My Patreon experience (sample size 2): Days 1-14: funny comic about characters who can admit to enjoying sex, and once in a while a naked body part is shown Day 15: here's money, keep going Day 60: SexCadets, we're taking down CLIT-Commander, after we navigate the Valley of the Penises Day 61: :/

Hummingbirds Hiding From the Rain 🕊️🌧️

Watching first season of Severance, and still don't know if I like it (it's currently my sick TV watching, so the standards are lower), but this line hits hard: "You brought him into this world without his permission, based on your own desire for emotional convenience."

Heart performed Stairway To Heaven when Obama gave Zep the Kennedy Center Honor. As Obama sat and listened to that song, my head canon says that he was remembering a time in college when him and Michelle got high and freaky to some Zep. That's *exactly* what he was thinking about, a-yup!

This might be corny, but I woke up from a nap this afternoon to find my cat snuggling with me, purring his little heart out, and I thought -- how fortunate we are to have these companions that let us know how with every breath how happy they are, and that we are loved.

Wow. Prime has ads. When I'm sober, I'm gonna look for a way to unsubscribe.

Ghosts are fantasy.

It feels good to write this, right as the pizza gets here. Feels like good timing.

I'm not sure how to feel about a sub-par golfer.

5 Sayings That Help Me Live a Better Life. 1. People only see the decisions you make, not the choices you had. 2. You can do anything in this life, but not everything all at once. 3. Never take criticism from someone you wouldn't go to for advice.

Today is for burying your hands in a fluffy cat belly

The amazing game Control is actually a sequel. In the first game, the player (Polaris) helps young Jesse and Dylan fight off transdimensional monsters, sadly at the cost of their home town and Polaris' own freedom. Except, in Control fashion, Remedy forgot to make the game, and just made the sequel!

Finally realized why I wait for the garage door to fully close before going into the house: I don't have the energy or the inclination to go up against the Russian mob "Nobody"-style, no thank you!

Writing with a physical medium (in this case, an erasable ink pen on plastic Rocketbook pages) in a slow longhand, really forces my thoughts into a Nice Orderly Conga Line (NOCL!), which is why I prefer to do story plotting this way, but then doing all of the "actual writing" on a computer.

Night night sweet dreamies You will bloom effortlessly when you plant yourself in environments which water you instead of run you dry

"Headlines Of Tomorrow, Today" presents January 13, 2027: Supreme Court Declares Elon Musk the True Founder of Disney, Approves Renaming of Disneyland to XLand and Disney World to XWorld.

Night night sweet dreamies On days where it feels like everything is too much You are not strange or abnormal What is strange or abnormal is denying yourself the compassion that you would give so freely to others Be kind to yourself

My father used to say you don’t have to know how to build a whole house in order to effectively drive a nail and I’m appreciating it more by the day.

We all know that Die Hard is a Christmas movie. But now I think that Die Hard 2 is actually a Superman movie: an unwelcome visitor tries to save the world, and inspires nerdy humans to rise up against the enemy. John also flies in this one, works with a reporter, saves a couple of airplanes, etc.

Finally watched "Trap". One of the funniest movies I've seen! Reminded me of the Spies segments from "Fry and Laurie": it felt like a thriller written by a 4 year old, but then a bunch of adults decided to just go with it and take it super seriously. Funny stuff, but not at all what I signed up for.

For me the goal in 2025 is this: amidst the work, amidst the chaos and the worry, amidst of all of what is to come and what is to be done about it... I am going to aggressively pursue joy both in my writing and out of it. Less a resolution, more a dogged, committed mission to seek joy big and small.
