Instead of watching the 'planetary parade' this time around, I plan to be well equipped for 2040. Hopefully I'll have enough disposable income to have my own stargazing equipment by then

How young would you have to be today to be reasonably confident of seeing a human colony on Mars? Or will no human that's born in the year 2025 live to see it? Or will no human see it period?

Setting aside all the shady business that actually goes on in a corporation like Lumon, would you ever choose to be 'severed'? Under what circumstances do you think you would be the most amenable to undergoing the procedure?

Can the LLMs of today become the Minds of The Culture? Did the Minds ever undergo the process of alignment that the AI community harps on about? Would it be a useful exercise to imagine the existence of Minds and then work backwards from there to arrive at how to get there like in a maze puzzle?

1984 was published in 1949 and Brave New World was published in 1932. We clearly live in a different age from when these were published and life is palpably different from what Orwell and Huxley experienced at the time. Both are obviously prescient and continue to be important

As a rabid reader of Enid Blyton in my early years (forgive me, somehow the repetitiveness didn't bore me at all not the veiled racism in parts), are there any equivalent series today? If not, what has prevented it? I always assumed more localized versions of those series would thrive if made well

Is Rings of Power worth watching for a big Tolkien/LOTR/Silmarillion fan? I've heard mixed reviews of it For that matter, is the Wheel of Time show worth watching at all? Mixed reviews there as well I tend to skew towards original shows instead of visiting a world I've already been to before

People love empathizing with apes in the 'Planet of the Apes' movies (and so do I) but if there was a competitive alternative species on earth which humanity was forced to co-exist with, how would we actually react? Would there be arranged marriages between the species to facilitate relations?

Do states that face a more existential threat from warming temperatures such as basically all the island nations and territories have a greater say in carbon emission regulations? As a back up, they should also be signing treaties with nearby countries to take them in if the worst comes to pass

Given the scramble for the Arctic and Trump's most recent bid for Greenland, I'm surprised that countries aren't more aggressively asserting their rights to Antarctica. I understand it isn't located in an area that's ass sensitive but surely there's a lot of minerals present. Is it the penguins?

I was told Bitcoin and crypto in general would soar during the Trump presidency. But I see little to no evidence of that so far. Maybe that's not yet an area of focus. Trump believes in baby steps

If it were only up to the US population, what percentage would be happy to vote to have Trump be elected a third time? Could he play on that to his advantage and act as a kingmaker even if he isn't front and center of the next election bid?

Does Trump plan to retire from his presidency and move to the (by then) brand new, glittering Trump tower in Gaza? Apparently, he expects to entertain Elon and Netanyahu in poolside bathtubs and regale them with his (soon to be) perfected weave. The raconteur that he is
