Chemist Reatha Clark King was born #OTD in 1938. Her calorimetry work on gaseous fluorine compounds at the National Bureau of Standards contributed to NASA's investigations of various rocket fuels for the space program. She was the first Black woman to work as a chemist at NIST. 🧪 👩🏾‍🔬

West Virginia historically votes against their own interests and for Republicans. West Virginians rank the lowest in country in terms of both education and healthcare. They keep voting for this. All I can assume is that they like black lung disease, poverty, lack of resources and infrastructure.
