Congrats to the Victoria Inn, Durham for making it into the European Bar Guide top 100 bars in Europe. Proper boozer. theeuropeanbarguide.com/top-100-bars...

There are lots of new releases today by cool bands and I am starting with Horsegirl.

Love my latest purchase.

Now playing, the new one by Decius. I am enjoying this, reminds me of my clubbing days.

Just back from the dentist and I am now one step closer to being a toothless simpleton.

Now playing. The Weather Station.

It’s not Blue Monday it’s a Blue Cheer kinda day.

I watched Heretic last night and today had a knock on the door from a couple of Elders. Was tempted to invite them in for blueberry pie.

Now playing. jasmine.4.t, really good stuff.

This is a really good film and possibly the first to reference antimicrobial resistance.

✍️ We are delighted to announce the loan signing of Enzo Le Fée from AS Roma! Welcome to Sunderland, Enzo! ❤️

This is a curious album. Essentially it is Thin Lizzy #1 plus an unknown (to me) singer and keyboard player doing Deep Purple covers.

Really enjoyed the first episode of Simon Schama’s Story of Us. Some great interviews and footage, especially the segment about Pauline Boty

Those stairs are a deathtrap.

New MICROBE MATTERS out now - Oropouche virus and the urgent need for global surveillance By Marta Giovanetti www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Excellent by SAFC tonight. Chuffed for Mayenda, great goal and played really well.

Happy New Year everyone

The results of my second go with the Brewzilla. This is a delicious milk chocolate stout.

Beautiful day for a walk along the coastal path. This is the pit cage at Easington Colliery.

Bloody hell, SAFC what a team!

Getting stuck into the results of my first brew with the Brewzilla 4.1. This is a 6 week bottle conditioned clone of Timothy Taylor’s Landlord. Tastes just like the original. Cheers and happy Christmas all.

I have just taken my Dad to the supermarket for his Christmas shop. If there is now a shortage of potatoes in the north east he is probably to blame.

TONIGHT at 10pm on BBC Scotland you can watch Since Yesterday: The Untold Story of Scotland's Girl Bands from the comfort of home! And it'll be on iPlayer afterwards. Tell all your pals!

Coming up, my favourite 100 albums of 2024.

BC Camplight this evening and it will be last gig of the year I have lots planned already for 2025.
