(I say all that with the acknowledgment that I have ONE piece that became virally popular. Even though it’s not the piece I would like to best known for. But that’s also the nature of the beast!)

This isn’t a gripe or statement against fandom, just an observation.

Looking into payment processors that accept adult content/“high-risk markets.” They DO exist but, from what I can see, they are prohibitively expensive for small/indie creators. Like, one I looked at charges 10% + .55 cents of every transaction. So a $10 comic book would get charged $1.55.

I feel like Chris Fleming is the natural progression of this evolutionary timeline. Fleming is both the man in drag parodying a specific Kind of Woman, and the woman who is being parodied.

Monty Python drag: oi a bloke in a dress ain’t that a laugh Kids in the Hall drag: i am going to embody the most unhinged woman you have ever seen. she is real and her power is terrible. you may not look away

Also they want to clone him to create an army of immortal soldiers because of course they do. HOWEVER There is ALREADY another immortal warrior who’s been pursuing Unute for thousands of years. A babirusa. A wild pig.

I’m enjoying it so far! Unute, an immortal, constantly regenerating/reincarnating berserker who pre-dates written history, is part of a present-day black ops unit. And by “part of” I mean they try to tell Unute what to do and sometimes he does it, if it’s something he felt like doing already.

No problem! It’s a gorgeous tapestry. I’m really glad it was rescued by someone who appreciates it!

I can’t find a good example/guide online but here’s the book I learned from: livebrary.overdrive.com/media/2356883

It doesn’t look like there’s much excess warp (vertical thread) left from the trimming, so getting the weft (horizontal thread) back on would be difficult. Probably the most secure way to finish this would be a strip of fabric folded over the edge of the weaving and then sewn on. Like a frame/hem

Yes!! I’m so interested in the idea of weirdo indie comics that have never been translated.

Also the main character is a 30-somethings assistant manga artist who spends the first 200+ pages of the manga being so absorbed in his own neuroses and opinions on manga that he doesn’t notice the beginnings of a zombie apocalypse around him. Relatable content.

It’s one of those manga that has ~problematic~ aspects AND the massive scope, technical skill, and unique elements make it one of my top 10 manga. Up there with Akira.

I feel similarly about “I am a Hero.” Kengo Hanazawa’s decisions to sometimes have multiple pages of “extraneous” panels, images that have nothing to do with immediate action, requires the reader to slow down, experience time and atmosphere.

This is so cute. I always appreciate your inclusion of body hair.

If you're a worker who believes paying CEOs more money (government "CEOs" or private sector ones) improves wages for those in the middle due to trickle-down effects, then you are also invested in one of the primary lies of capitalism.
