Circe came up in a conversation earlier this evening, I love this depiction of her although if I ever meet her I shall buy her a more practical set of absinthe glasses, her pet fish are constantly pissed. Artist: Waterhouse

Will be celebrating Beltane Eve with a glass of wine and my cherished copy of "Magic and Witchcraft in rural England" by the Rev Magister. Copies are very very hard to find now so if you do see a copy grab it, you wont be disappointed.

I dont normally take equipment on a paranormal investigation. But decided to invest in a thermal sensor and have a play since it arrived today. I'll go play with it outside later (or tomorrow) when it is fully charged however at the moment everything is soaked in 26C heat.

Happy Birthday Maya Deren.

I love stupid people (and loath Musk). But I hear that they can drive through tunnels painted on walls, Road Runner style.

Thinking about the terroir of graveyards

Tonight is St Mark's Eve which is an important date in the magical calendar. Folklore has it that if you sit at the church doorway between 11pm and 1am you would see shades of those who would be called to die over the past year. you will then see the shades of those people who come close to death.

Bit a fuss outside just now as Vince has met his Nemesis today; Darth Ginger who strayed into Vince's garden. I warned my young Padwan that he is not a jedi yet but he rolled over and asked for dreamies. This is how Vince told me the battle went.

I have just given a talk on Magic and the Paranormal which is on Youtube already for my friends who like to peak behind the veil. www.youtube.com/watch?v=phfv...

Book of the day is Reginald Scot's Discoverie of witchcraft and this edition from the 1930s is a joy. It is rough cut, I assume someone once had the pleasure of taking a knife and cutting open each page to reveal the wonders within.

Cracking day today visiting Grace Dieu priory with a friend. The place is certainly haunted and a few places certainly felt touched. To the right of this photo is a pathway which leads to a portal (which we opened with a Meonia sword) and the whole path felt that people were walking up and down it.

If doctors could hear the conversations I have with my cats I would be sectioned.

My cat and I. I think I look too much like the Master here. But worse, Vince thinks he is the Doctor and I am the assistant.

To all my American friends, if you are out there today protesting, please do stay safe.

Vince has been home for 6 months and 1 day now and walks around like he is a lord. He likes the radiator though so every so often I check him for a pulse and leave him to it.

Latest sourdough is a walnut and date sourdough and it’s just cool enough to eat now. There is a fair bet that breakfast tomorrow will see some of this toasted with avocado and feta on top.

Just having a little discussion with Alexa at the moment

I can definitely pull of the Watcher vibe. Now, where has my Slayer got to now!

Han Solo and Chewbacca flying the Millenium Falcon. I am Han Solo and my cat Vince is the mighty Chewbacca incase extra clarity was needed. (Vince thinks its the other way around)

Some new Queen's Burmese glass as well. These are Victorian, probably by Webb and Co but examples of Uranium glass with gold tincture added to give a muted glow and pastel pink colour. These are also painted with the flower design.

I have nicely scored more radioactive glass and I cant wait to bash this lot up and start making things. I have a source of uranium glass and also radioactive photosensitive glass which glows pink - I need to research it since I dont think its cadmium glass but working on that.
