Above the Feather River canyon, 4yr after severe Bear Fire flipped a big switch on sensitive foothill ecology for many miles

the head of this Leviathan, in the creatureā€™s living intact state, is an entire delusion

This is part of a spongy gray maze of twisty little synapses, all alike.

Not to scale of whatā€™s needed but getting out to observe and remediate imperialā€”err, public land at key points to take stock and repair some frayed edges feels like a good hobby to 2x down on šŸ«”ā›‘ļøšŸŒ±šŸŖØšŸŒž

And there it is. Same holds for activists, writers, "free speech" orgs, arts institutions and everyone else who has been silent for 15 months.

The state also weaponized citizenship to undermine Indigenous treaty & land claims in the era of emancipation. In a very real sense, the question of abstract rights & the extent of their implementation always comes back to plunder in the U.S.

Way past. Heā€™s locked in on total destruction of norms as a forcing function to perverse sci-fi manias. Exponential acceleration and itā€™s going nuclear soon. Him or the world, one ends this year. I think he may actually make the right choiceā€¦ šŸ˜µ

Petty and/or nihilistic entertainment deserves a mention. Too many have quite literally lost the plot, for so many reasons (exploited vulnerabilities, really)

I think there are still some favorable forks and bumps in the road as it were, but too much of it comes down to choices by people who sought and got the power to crush others. A literal vicious cycle - brace up.

Like I said: Americans are being betrayed & abandoned by their leaders & institutions, at precisely the time they are most needed.

Camelops hesternus pencil drawing, based on mounted skeletons. Extinct Pleistocene camelid. Iā€™ve changed my interpretation of how to reconstruct this species over the years. Feet llama-like. But latest ancient genetics points to solid camel lineage

"Now I am become DOGE, the destroyer of worlds"

It is a profound shame that the most boring people on the planet have drained the revolutionary vitality out of liberal thought to use it as a cudgel to wield against college students that annoy them.

If this is astonishing, then one is obligated to update one's worldview until it is not astonishing. Since it, you know, happened and is happening.

Replies and quotes on this are RICH if you need a vox populi temp check with a side of lols

As a reference, the $46B that Meta spent building this shit is about the same amount of money Spain used to built its WHOLE high speed rail network. All 2469 miles of it. Zuckerberg got that money selling shitty ads and destroying democracy, and gave the world this.

Sometimes itā€™s good to take five & reflect on all the different ways people have gone about trying to figure things out and live right, stay true, and lift others up and then here we are bedraggled looking sideways across the asylum at each other while the clock winds down and computers keep score.

For context, Iā€™m willing to bet that anyone whoā€™s built a house from the ground up can relate directly, viscerally, to ā€˜building from angerā€™ at some point along the way šŸ˜«šŸ”Ø

or, ā€˜loving with vigilanceā€™

The paradox, or ā€˜building from angerā€™: ā€œWithout a way to shape hot rage into action and power we wallow in the fire and are consumed. Insteadā€¦discover your humanity and your love in revolutionā€¦build vehicles that take our anger and allow it to fuel the reshaping of society.ā€

The kernel of wisdom under a lot of ā€˜tough loveā€™ dogma is that we can and occasionally must choose and change our emotional affect regardless of circumstance - without delusion or denial - to resolve challenges. That capacity is getting severely tested.

The thing is, everything you knew is going or gone. That's scary, but it's also a HUGE opportunity. Failing to recognize it as such (again, see also 2020) is the only way to lose permanently.

I wish we (democratic societies) had spent way more time with the work of 20th century geographers and anthropologists exploring culture contact, boundaries, conflict, and institutions, and way less time with the rational actor theories of neoclassical economists.

Which habitation/population patterns are most resistant to environmental exploitation? How do you embed or array affiliated peopleā€™s existence around a vibrant landscape to protect and sustain against extractive interests?

Meta / zoom-out moment to recognize just how unprecedented this level of text basis for lived social experience is. Whatā€™s it doing to our sentience?

Could be very illuminating to compile an ā€œengaged stewardshipā€ overlay to the Native Lands map of N.Am ancestral territoriality that highlights zones with active caretaker communities and if/how newcomers may support or protect those efforts.
