Welcome to the Paramount Observatory. This is a private project of Les Girvan to show the active #Astronomy, #Astrophotography, I am doing from #Liverpool #UK.

This is looking good for a whole night of clear skies tonight 🙌✨🔭 #Astrophotography #Astronomy #Space #StormHour #MoonHour #ThePhotoHour #lookup @liverpoolas.org

Mars from last night over Manchester UK. Look up. With the skymax 150 scope.

I have started a project to build as much data on M51 the Whirlpool this Galaxy season. This stack of the first 3hrs 45mins 27/02/2025. Looking forward to seeing how adding data improves the final image? #Astrophotography #Astronomy #StormHour #MoonHour #ThePhotoHour #lookup @liverpoolas.org

Done a cleanup and new stack of #Jupiter taken 27/02/2025 18:59 GMT from backyard #ParamountObservatory #Liverpool #UK #Astrophotography #Astronomy #Space #StormHour #MoonHour #ThePhotoHour #lookup @liverpoolas.org

A quick stack of #Jupiter tonight with its moons, Europa and Io, closest to Jupiter. #Astrophotography #Astronomy #Space #StormHour #MoonHour #ThePhotoHour #lookup @liverpoolas.org

Well it's been a while, but have clear skies tonight and taking another peek at our giant protector, #Jupiter This is a clip of my #live view right now in #Liverpool #Uk I will be moving on to some #Galaxy imaging later, will post once I've got some new data. @liverpoolas.org

Having spent sometime imaging #jupiter I do struggle to post process the data, so seeing this video explains a lot, and get why you'd use a B&W camera rather than a colour, take a look. #Astrophotography #Astronomy #StormHour #MoonHour #ThePhotoHour @liverpoolas.org youtube.com/watch?v=D36t...

No stargazing in the next few days in this area then 😞🔭

Dust devil on Mars seen from orbit, fascinating stuff 🌪️

Super image and real dedication to achieve this, well done 👏👏

Anyone around #Liverpool will currently be experiencing a cloudy sky, so here's a good option for tonights event. 🔭

If you are in #Liverpool #Uk and would like to know more about #Astronomy and #Astrophotography come and join us 7pm to 9pm tonight, 🤞 for clear skies liverpoolas.org/event/starga...

Come and join us, I will be attending tonight's event 🤞 for clear skies tonight and looking forward to meeting you, details: @liverpoolas.org liverpoolas.org/event/starga...

Blown away by the residents of Portobello! 200+ came out for pop-up astronomy last night & the heroic members of @astronomyedinburgh.bsky.social stayed out for hours to let them peer through their telescopes and celebrate #NationalAstronomyWeek. 🧪🔭 📷 ↙️James Robertson ↘️ Charlie & Isobel's Parents

It's been a while since I've had an opportunity to open the Observatory, fortunately, weather played in our favour, so managed a whole night on some galaxies, althought had to contend with our neighbour the Moon #Astrophotography #Astronomy #Space #StormHour #MoonHour #ThePhotoHour @liverpoolas.org

Want to see Jupiter's moon , Europa, and it's shadow crossing the surface?

Easy smartphone edits for astrophotography.

I've been going through my historic data, and have decided, with my current knowledge, and with the equipment added over time, to archive this data and start a fresh period of data gathering. I intend to check through the data and clear anything that is low quality. My 1st target will be M51.

Battle of the Astro Stars 😂

This is really #impressive, considering Sunni should not even be up there right now👏 #Astrophotography #Astronomy #Space #StormHour #MoonHour #ThePhotoHour #lookup #ISS @liverpoolas.org www.nasa.gov/image-detail...

Just a reminder to #uk , we have Nation Astronomy Week 1st to 9th of Feb. This is always a reminder to me to #lookup and remind myself why I started this hobby and reconnect again 🔭 #Astrophotography #Astronomy #Space #StormHour #MoonHour #ThePhotoHour @liverpoolas.org astronomyweek.org.uk

I Took time to process some of the data captured over the past few weeks. Think they are probably over processed, but trying to get the balance right. I welcome your feedback and recommendations. #Astrophotography #Astronomy #Space #StormHour #MoonHour #ThePhotoHour #lookup @liverpoolas.org

The universe just keeps giving ! scitechdaily.com/james-webb-u...

For the TIK TOK refugees, that's as exciting as it will get 👍

I went through my videos of Jupiter and decided to try #Astrosurface to reprocess one from 24/12/2024. I am pretty pleased with it, as in this process, it's retained one of #Jupiter Moons, I think it's Europa? Please let me know if I'm wrong on that 🙂

That's a wrap for tonight, fog is settling now, so time for bed.

It would seem rude not to take a look at the moon tonight!

Clouds are keeping away, so continuing to take a look at other deep sky objects. Currently #M81 #M82 the bodes Nebula. #Astrophotography #Astronomy #Space #StormHour #MoonHour #ThePhotoHour #lookup

The forecast is suggesting clouds coming in, and can arriving from the west, so might be the last image of our #EAA session, this time it's IC434 The Horsehead Nebula. #Astrophotography #Astronomy #Space #ThePhotoHour #lookup

Next target for our #EAA session tonight, the beautiful #M42 a nursery of new stars in the constellation Orion. Go outside, look to the south and you will see three stars in a line, just below that you will see a fuzzy area in the sky, that is M42 #Astrophotography #Astronomy #ThePhotoHour #lookup

So tonight I'm just doing some live stacking of various objects, currently viewing the Andromeda Galaxy M31, our nearest galactic neighbour! #Astrophotography #Astronomy #Space #StormHour #MoonHour #ThePhotoHour #lookup #EAA @liverpoolas.org

With clear skies again tonight getting some #Jupiter , and why not 🙂 #Astrophotography #Astronomy #Space #StormHour #MoonHour #ThePhotoHour #lookup @liverpoolas.org

Last night I spent a few hours playing with planets (and froze at five below zero…). So, say hello to Jupiter (with the bonus of Europa almost in occultation), Mars and Venus. No trace of Saturn, but I’ll try again tonight—it’s really tricky to align with the planets! #Astrophotography #Astronomy

My 3rd object from last night, the collection of galaxies near the constellation of #Leo centered on #NGC4435 The Eyes. I have annotated the image to show the galaxies, but will need a LOT more data to pull through the detail. #Astrophotography #Astronomy #Space #ThePhotoHour #lookup

I ❤️ Annals #astronomy

We have a brilliant survived comet officially now in the sunset for the southern hemisphere! I propose we call it COMET ERECTUS because when it last came past Earth - us Homos weren’t the only ones. #astronomy

2nd sequence started now, NGC2244, The Rosette Nebula, there will be 25x300s images captured, to add to the existing images. Telescope: WO Z73III APO Camera: ZWO ASI533MC PRO Filters: Optolong L-eXtreme Exposure: 300s Gain: 120 #Astrophotography #Astronomy #Space #lookup

The first meridian flip of the night just occurred. #Astrophotography #Astronomy #Space #StormHour #MoonHour #ThePhotoHour #lookup @liverpoolas.org
