Them: How long are you going to do this (wear masks and take precautions to avoid COVID)? Me: Well let me ask you, How many infections do you think your body can take?

Your maskless face is a weapon being used by fascists as they dismantle public health. Do not help them harm BIPOC, disability, trans, immigrant, etc communities, who face greater risk with fewer resources. Wearing n95 is an act of hope, community care, and resistance. Give/get mask mutual aid:

I don’t even know how this could be presented as being in service of anything other than hindering scientific progress.

I’m officially off Twitter. Should’ve done it a while ago, but here we are. Would love to start building the amazing community I had fostered over there. So, if you like Jesus even a little bit and care about ending homelessness… let’s be friends!

At OpenAeros, we strive to meet people where they are with the tools they need. Our mission of accessibility, inclusivity, and decentralized, open source collaboration makes the choice to pivot to using this as our primary social network an easy one. (1/2)

Masks, sound, speech, and accessibility, a thread! 🧵 I'm a professor. I teach in a mask. I do math with researchers and students with hearing and auditory processing disabilities. This is a thread on my solution for lip reading and audio quality all in one.

Hey everyone…had a conversation with the @uoftpandemics.bsky.social SM manager about why they should get off twitter A plea: their bsky account is a shell right now, but if we could get them some followers here I bet we could get them to switch Please consider following 🙏🙏🙏

I know a lot of people don’t want to hear this… but if you’re going to talk about resisting & community building…wear a mask. For yourself, for your community, for disabled & vulnerable people. We’re watching what’s left of public health be gutted… protect yourself.

Fixing mask gaps with a chin staple increases protection, the angled pleat is better for narrow or angular faces

Our local community fit tester @parentmishmash.bsky.social demonstrates here that shaping the nose wire properly on a bifold mask can improve effectiveness by a factor of 5-10x vs keeping it pointy WTF the nose! Good tip for staying safe this winter! #masktogethercolorado #masktogetheramerica

If you have resolved to try your best to be kinder in this new year, and are looking for something to do, for something small to do, for something tangible to do, consider wearing a mask, there is still more you can do there is still more you must do but a mask is a start.

Fixing the nosewire, video next post since I can’t combine them here

You should have understood at 'SARS TWO'. That this would leave a trail of disability. And that's what it's doing.

“In 2022, a Journal of Voice study revealed that 30% of Broadway singers continued to experience vocal fatigue, reduced range, or chronic inflammation after recovering from COVID-19.” #ProtectTheHeartOfTheArts💕 www.thecanary.co/uk/analysis/...

If I had understood airborne transmission and aerosols as I do now, I would have masked way before the pandemic started in enclosed spaces. I would have saved myself many infections that made me miserable for weeks every year.

A lot of Democrats make fun of me for being homeless. They say the same things Republicans say. I basically shouldn't have an opinion, being any conversations, or be on any platforms because I should have "different priorities" because I'm homeless.

As NYPD officials boasted of the resources expended finding the killer of a corporate CEO, another sidewalk murder the same week, of a migrant teen, has not received the same treatment. hellgatenyc.com/two-manhatta...

The arrest of Luigi Mangione has prompted NYC Mayor Eric Adams to once again say he supports a mask ban. If you stopped masking - please mask up now. We can’t afford to miss what may be one of our last opportunities to normalize masks as a public health tool. Medical exemptions won’t save us:

It’s always baffling to me that infectious disease has been such an under-emphasized part of national security for the last few years

This song is an absolute BANGER. Scroll through the thread for discussion about historical context. (And for the YouTube link for this video).

If I could help people understand 2 things about being disabled - it would be: We try everything. All our spoons go towards trying to get better. Telling us to “try harder” is cruel. It’s not fun asking for help. When it comes with strings & gaslighting .. it’s not helpful
