Day 9 of our Bergen-Kirkenes-Bergen voyage and my parkrun thermal robe has been the BEST thing I’ve brought with me. Sub-zero temperatures and Arctic winds? No problem.

No parkrun for me today.

Good afternoon.

Good morning.

Almost time for my favourite fixture of the #6Nations 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇮🇪

Well done 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Now, come on 🇮🇪 #6nations

Today’s parkrun experience: absolutely Baltic before the start, lovely once I got moving, failed to take photos 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

-7C with wind chill when I arrived at the park for Duthie junior parkrun but totally worth it.

This is the story across many Scottish parkrun events this morning, including mine. I’m going to head up to the course to inspect the damage later.

Bit different to last week’s snow!

Montane Winter Spine Race 2025 More than 150 runners just started their 268 mile, non-stop, unsupported race along the Pennine Way. The roster of runners is incredibly strong this year, and the winter backdrop particularly dramatic. Live tracking: live.opentracking.co.uk/spinerace25 #SpineRace

Top tip for everyone dot watching @spinerace.bsky.social - follow @drlygo.bsky.social as well, she’s absolutely brilliant and has loads of behind-the-scenes insights and expertise.

That was tremendous.

Early course recce for this weekend’s parkrun. It’s absolutely beautiful.

Spending yet another parkruneve worrying about the weather 🙄🤞🏻

Love a junior parkrun volunteers photo.

As Kermit almost sang, 🎶 After all, there’s only one more sleep ‘til parkrunday 🎶

After a stressful RD stint yesterday, sunrise in the park followed by timekeeping at junior parkrun were just what I needed.

Hazlehead always does Christmas to the max. There’s parkrun-themed carols on Christmas Day and it’s absolutely the best way to blow away the cobwebs on 1st Jan. I’m bookending the festive fortnight as RD tomorrow and on 4th Jan. Cannot. Wait. 🎄

The joys of parkrun volunteering in December: arriving at Duthie junior parkrun as the moon was setting and marshalling as the sun was rising.

After two weather-related cancellations in the last three weeks, the forecast for this parkrunday is looking lovely. Christmas jumpers at the ready!

Facing up to the reality that we will have to cancel tomorrow’s parkrun. We’re not allowed to proceed in high winds so we really don’t have a choice. Second cancellation in three weeks. Urgh.

parkrun people: statsguy @charliepearce.bsky.social is here!

No parkrun for me today! All the local events including mine have cancelled and the nearest event that might be on, is over an hour’s drive away in awful weather. I do #loveparkrun but it’s just not worth it today. If you manage to get to an event: enjoy! Tell us all about it afterwards.

It's only right that my first post here is sharing Scotland's map of named ice gritters. You can follow where they all are in real-time. Some favourites this year: Sir David Attenbrrrrrr Stone Cold Steve Frostin Lord Coldemort You're a blizzard, Harry www.traffic.gov.scot/gritter-trac...
