Notamify tech stack: Quart (python) Next.js Firebase PostgreSQL Google cloud GPT You probably never heard of quart, huh? Me neither before I joined 😅 but it's good!

if your MVP isn’t held together by duct tape and panic, you launched too late

Got an impersonator If he followed you, it's not me! The real account handle is jasonleow.bsky.social

Most of my procrastination comes from not having an action plan

Even after 15+ years of engineering I still have to remind myself that it's OK to fuck up as long as you can fix it. Don't let the fear of messing up prevent you from shipping 💪 We are all imposters 😅

The number of apps someone shipped / launched should not be a metric of success. No matter the time frame. How much success does the app have is a metric. By success I mean 💰, it's business after all 🤷‍♂️

First impressions after giving Zen browser a try: 1. Seamles swtich, all the data import works great 2. UI less cluttered - more space for the website itself 3. ♥️ Workspaces is a banger - I can have different set of pinned tabs whether I'm working on notamify.com or just browsing

Sunday morning founder mode: - notebook - apple cider vinegar - terraform

Am I a tech-bro now? 😬

Prioritization is haaard 😫 There are parts of the system I’d love to improve for dev experience, but they don’t directly move the business needle. Balancing what excites you vs. what pays the bills? The eternal founder struggle.

One thing that is particularly hard about being 40 is that you can't just go "all in" - especially when it comes to physical fitness. The worst part is that in my head I'm still like "Ima just go to the gym every day, train like a maniac for an hour and will get back in shape in 3 weeks"

Every year the backers guild meets for a supper and afterwards they throw buns, oranges and sausages out of the restaurant windows to the crowd of kids yelling "Bäckermöhli, Bäckermöhli!" Switzerland, please keep your traditions forever 😍

Pretty fucking good for a super niche aerospace app! 🤯

Too much avocado? 🤔

Tech influencers be like: "By leveraging the quantum entanglement of decentralized AI-driven synergies, we unlock a fractalized paradigm shift in the metacognition of digital ecosystems." Buddy, just say you built a to-do app... Gotta love that Deepak Chopra/Jordan Peterson's techfluencers...

I'm usually a high performance person, but there are periods of time where I slip up... to social media, to games, to sports, to Netflix... This is fine! We are not robots. It's ok (and much needed) to let yourself go, treat yourself to some cheap amusement.

Violets are blue, Roses are red. DeepSeek is fine, OpenAI ain’t dead.

Everytime when I see new Bezos

How ppl can claim that deepseek R1 is better than GPT when R1 is trained using GPT (and alike), therefore being at most as smart "teachers" Source 👇 youtu.be/r3TpcHebtxM?...

It's good to go to the office: - ate breakfast - drank coffee made by a barista - spent 1h on a massage chair - ate lunch - got some ice cream Now going back home to get some work done 👍

We are living in exciting times 🤯 Just uploaded a PRD (Product Requirements Doc) of the feature i will be working on to NotebookLM and generated a podcast out of it. It's flawless 😍 What a way to consume technical content!

Hahaha love it! "You guys want to call it like that, no problem..." 😂 www.reuters.com/world/us/goo...

NGL tweeting without any intention to sell is very liberating 😁 No reposts, no plucking your product in old posts... very refreshing

"Keep an open mind but not so open that your brain falls out." 🤷‍♂️

I'm probably falling for bait, but aren't we pushing this a bit too far? "Non-men", really? What happened to identifying yourself as a man or woman?

I spent most of the weekend fighting with tests after switching to python async postgres driver (yes, we have tests!) Result: much more understanding of python's asyncio ...and still failing tests 🥲

Interesting cursor update 🚨 You can change cursor rules depending on folder structure, e.g. - you are under the tests folder: add some test specific rules - you have a full stack app, now you can have different instructions whether you are under FE or BE context

Wifey is sick, so I'm picking my son from school today. Hope he can spot me in the crowd 😬

Ppl say "you don't hate Mondays, you hate your job". I call BS, I do hate Mondays - the job is fine.

Morning doggy walk. Can't get enough of 🇨🇭 with such weather

Time to get my 7 yo familiar how to do business. This is a contract we signed to go running next day 💪 No more "no, I didn't promise that!" bs

I officially joined notamify.com as a co-founder at the end of 2024. In the first 4 weeks we managed to: 1. Rollout new infra to help us ship more features faster 2. Signed our first API access contract 3. Hit 1k WAU 4. Incorporate company in USA 🇺🇸 Not a bad start of 2025 💪

Refactoring without tests is just rewriting

I might be naive, but: You should teach something you are not an expert at

Are you writing tests for features that use AI? At notamify.com we started unit testing some of the AI interpretations that have structured results. Costs are negligible (o1-mini) and the shipping confidence greatly improved 💪

If you are working on web apps and you consider yourself a front-end or back-end dev, you better start working towards being a full-stack. Those specializations will die out soon *caugh caugh AI*

Anyone working on a SaaS that is NOT built for other makers? I'll start 👇
