@pookleblinky.bsky.social if only CNN had followed your advice

If the government can pay a foreign state to imprison you and, in so doing, remove you from the protection of US law, the Constitution is worthless.

I'm not saying journalists should never interview admitted propagandists. There are journalistic reasons to do so. But if we do, we must be prepared to -- in fact it is our duty to -- challenge vociferously all unsubstantiated claims. Otherwise, we ourselves become propagandists.

im sorry but you can't be blaming the left when harris ran on a campaign of courting the right and saying she will be tough on crime, stricter on immigration than her opponent, having the most lethal military in the world, supporting crypto investors, and that nothing will fundamentally change.

Trump has done tremendous damage to our travel/tourism industry, which supports approximately 9.6 MILLION American jobs and contributes over $2.4 TRILLION to our GDP. (chart courtesy of Financial Times)

Apple’s forecast for tomorrow is 9 degrees colder than weather.com and 3 degrees colder than @accuweather.com Is the the future under Trump’s elimination of the NOAA?

You all realize the Trump administration could not care less about actual antisemitism right?

How embarrassing. The USA ranks 38th in healthcare worldwide. Mexico ranks 22nd. The wealthiest country is causing people to go bankrupt from medical bills, many die. Trump has made the USA a shithole. It’s not great. Not even in the top 25

"Joseph Goebbels noted frequently in his diaries that the dictator not only could chat very pleasantly among his close acquaintances, but absolutely knew how to listen as well."

The NYT when someone wants to kill higher education

The President of the United States engaged in insider trading, and laughed about it. He is not exempt from the law. Where the fuck is Congress?

The Republican assault on democracy is one of the worst crises in U.S. history. So why won’t the media say directly that Trump is trying to become a dictator? Why the soft, incremental coverage? It’s as if an asteroid hurtled toward Earth and the media focused on the process of naming the asteroid.

Trump’s DOJ is blatantly defying a Supreme Court order—refusing to bring back someone they deported illegally. A federal judge gave them two chances. They said no. Who stops this now? If SCOTUS can be ignored, what’s left? This is authoritarian rule, not rule of law. This is a defining moment.

Like I and many smarter than me have said: this will cost lives and livelihoods. It will further wreck the American economy (which is well on its way to being wrecked). Weather and climate impact a significant percentage of our GDP. It’s just stupid.

The DOJ had a network outage. That’s what happens when you let Nazi AI take over.

The bill is egregious, it’s essentially a poll tax, especially on married women—it’s approx $130+ for a passport, $45 for a certified Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate. And there’s no language stating what is acceptable proof.

Never. Forget. Never. Forgive. ✨

I still don't understand why SCOTUS just lets DOJ say that sending immigrants to a brutal foreign prison with no due process is "foreign policy." It really isn't! It turns an easy due process case into a much more difficult separation of powers case. (Hey -- maybe I just answered my own question!)

Say it with us: “constitutional crisis”

BREAKING: As expected, and consistent with all the PROOF reporting from the past week, the Trump administration has now _refused to follow court orders_ in the Abrego Garcia case. Major media misinformed the public by telling them that the Supreme Court ruling in the case was a win for rule of law.
