As Nazis took power, Germany experienced a brain drain among their scientists and other scholars. Perhaps the most famous was Einstein, but many others also fled (pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...). Don't think for a second that other countries won't offer safe haven to our best and brightest.

A Doge was a ruler in Venice who was elected (by ruling families) for life and who wielded considerable power that was largely used to protect the wealthiest families. There is virtually no chance that Musk is unaware of that and what it implies to be in charge of it.
