Litmus test for whatā€™s actually new // If people quickly get it, probably not.

Just so you know, gasoline becomes unusable after about a year so all those apocalypse movies with gas are really reaching factually.

AI just came and took all the art...

Standing up for what we believe in. In a clever and dissident way! Bravo @patrickamadon.bsky.social! That was and still is a bold moveāš”ļø #art #artasacatalyst #digitalart #glitch

Just went from theory to reality on an anti-AI surveillance technology with the most recent round of real world tests. Coming to you soon šŸ“

Two years ago put up some artwork in Hong Kong that earned me an arrest order thatā€™s still active today. apnews.com/article/hong...

The AI boom will primarily benefit those with an understanding of AI. You'll see the opportunities sooner and dodge the red herrings more often. Play with MJ, GPT, DeepSeek, Hugging Face. Can't overstate the importance of adjacency.

Learning the difference between mechanical glitches/tube bending/vhs, digital glitches via hex or code manipulation, and glitch effects in post will separate great art and collections from the rest

Mute lists tell the history of web3 in alphabetical order

There's no world where crypto or digital art aren't more important in the future than they are today. Ignore the noise and carry on šŸ«”

Need to release my AI voice model publicly so I can have plausible deniability for anything Iā€™ve said or will say.

Ethos or it dies

Equivocating the financial value of art with culture is peak whatever this is

If people knew how easy it is to make something that resembles art now, theyā€™d talk more about concept.

Challenge anyone to justify why gold or gems inherently deserve more value than memecoins. If value hinges on societal consensus, both are equally arbitrary and valid.

Price isnā€™t what keeps the masses away from collecting digital art. Zora tried it, Rodeo is trying it. Itā€™s not a price issue, itā€™s a percieved value issue we collectively need to address.

Let's see someone build a tool for artists to create their own individual marketplace sites. Decentralization demands artists, not centralized entities, hold control over transactions, data, and presentation to create a truly open, artist-empowering ecosystem.

Sad to see MP fold. Good group of people there. That being said, decentralization requires tooling to empower individuals (see @manifoldxyz and @TransientLabs) or platforms to pivot to gallery/artist management models.

Artist rights matter. The freedom to transact should shield creators from being coerced into giving up control just to put their work on someone elseā€™s platform. Itā€™s on artists to stand up and secure these rights, no one will hand them over.

Collecting 100,000 $RARE worth of art this month with @SuperRare. Feel free to share below. Looking forward to seeing what you've made. šŸ“

Hope to see more artist-led shows this year. Waiting for others to do it for you isnā€™t the way

The trick isnā€™t getting people to see your art, itā€™s getting them to care about your art.

Support people that support artists

Flooding the market with thousands of cheap NFTs chips away at the very notion of digital scarcity that makes them collectible or ā€˜valuableā€™ in the first place.

Art matters more than provenance. History is filled with itemsā€”like stamps, cards, or forgotten art movementsā€”whose provenance didnā€™t save them from fading away. Cultural relevance is what endures but without provenance, harder to attain cultural relevance with digital art.

Happy New Year! Hope you all figure out all the things you want to figure out this coming year and stay out of jail.

When scammers donā€™t understand the blockchain is a public ledger

The outside hate isn't about crypto or NFTs, it's about the fear of having their plan for an orderly, predictable life disrupted.

Trust, but verify on-chain.

Have $1m in vol on @opensea so should get a decent airdrop. Whatever I get, Iā€™m going to use it to buy art from Syrian, Venezuelan, Cuban and Iranian artists banned from their platform. šŸ“

Good art / aesthetic is always viewed in the present. Subject to change with time.

Token-washing is the practice of issuing digital tokens with little substantive value as a veneer of innovation to improve an entityā€™s public image, while neglecting to address its underlying issues.

Give the gift everyone actually wants this Christmas. Digital art. šŸŽ„

Mon$ter, 2024 Digital Visualization This piece focuses on 420 tokens launched through pumpdotfun that soared to fleeting highs before collapsing. Drawing on data extracted via a Python script from Solscanā€™s APIs, each vertical bar charts the entire lifecycle of a tokenā€™s market capitalization.

One key lesson from New York last week: our future may be defined by heavy-handed surveillanceā€”and this is before AI even gets truly effective.

For at least the next decade, thereā€™s no need to worry about quantum computers breaking our cryptographic systems (BTC/Eth). Weā€™ve recently seen the factoring of 50 bit RSA and the new Willow quantum chip by Google, but this tech is far from compromising practical encryption. šŸ“

No collector will stand in front of art theyā€™ve collected and tell you why it looks cool. Art they can tell an interesting story about thoughā€¦ šŸ¤Œ

Itā€™s hard to know if youā€™re caged if you never look for the bars.

Digital pulp art refers to artwork that is sensational and mass-produced, often perceived as cheap or lacking in artistic depth. This style prioritizes immediate visual impact over lasting cultural significance or critical acclaim. As a result, pulp art is seen as disposable entertainment.

Authenticity matters a lot more than what the spreadsheets may be telling you. šŸ“

Love wordpad glitches because you can't replicate them well elsewhere. Love old AI face glitches because you can't replicate them well elsewhere.

ā„ļøSeasons greetings from my AI family ā„ļø

Our digital community holds vast unrealized soft power - rooted in privacy, decentralization, and self-sovereignty. The recent success of crypto advocacy is just a taste of our capability to influence public discourse and direction. šŸ“

A $200 Chromebook solely for blockchain transactions would probably dramatically reduce your attack surface. Be safe out there šŸ“

However good it is, AI will make it better. However bad it is, AI will make it worse.

Good art isnā€™t often born from comfort šŸ“
