It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

So the President not only fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. He also fired the top JAGs at the Army, Navy and Air Force. Those are the lead people who determine what is a legal order and what is not. So if you're planning to do things that are illegal they're the most obvious obstacle.

In addition to Congress being the place that makes the laws, pretty key thing, the constitution explicitly says Congress gets to create the postal system. It’s not left implied that that comes under law making generally. The President has no power to unilaterally abolish it and move it to commerce.

Now why do you think it is that DOJ dismissed charges against SpaceX WITH prejudice but Emil Bove plans to hold charges over Eric Adams' head for almost four more years? www.nytimes.com/2025/02/20/u...

fantasizing about a world where an opposition congress responds to trump’s attempts to usurp legislative power by defunding the entire white house staff

Reflecting on this more, here's why the "Trump saying X is just a distraction from Y" trope irritates me so much: it's impossible to understand this moment without at least *trying* to observe the totality of it. It's all a unified whole. Because that's how history works!

“Some of those that work forces Are the same that burn crosses”

Dear Democratic Party: why are you not screaming this from every rooftop? Why are you not holding press conferences with these poor fired people - putting a face on what the richest man is destroying?

Under no circumstances should Democrats work with Republicans for the next two years. This might be a hot take and a Valentine's Dinner solo with bourbon take. But F them. They don't give a damn about democracy or the constitution. So figure this shit out alone. DO NOT HELP THEM. PERIOD

Where you at Dems ? You fighting to get them far better severance or going to ignore them, and all others in similar circumstances?

Oh look! The guy who has access to ALL of America's data with Big Balls and his racist tech bro friends needed two weeks to post a simple website... And hackers needed just one day to show President Musk doesn't know how to put up a website.

This is all a good reminder that, “no help, no votes until the criminal conduct stops” is neither a big ask nor a politically perilous one.

I really wish rather than saying, "Kash Patel is bad," Dems would say, "If Kash Patel kills investigations into corruption, right wing terrorism, and Russian spying, you will be responsible."

How much Elon Musk makes from the government a day: $8 million. How much a senior on Social Security gets a day: $65 Guess which budget Musk and Trump want to cut?

There is going to come a time in the very near future where the only way to resolve this is for every non-MAGA media company to band together and simply refuse to walk into the presser or attend the event. Because he wants the coverage more than anything else. Divided you fall.

Rep. Jamie Raskin protesting at the CFPB: "A rally a day keeps the fascists away." 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Trump has again outdone expectations. No one's ever seen anything like it. When people warned pro-Pal activists that Trump wld be much worse then Biden some possibilities were: 1) will allow Israel to intensify the war, no ... 2) will send more 2k pound bombs, no ... 3) will give Netanyahu ...

Woo woo woo! So, we’re talking about saving taxpayers’ money, Congress? Federal employee compensation costs $271 billion—so even if you fired all of us, that’s all you’d save.

This is how the world views the US. Australia calling out fascism, then adding that "Trump is a disaster for humanity and he belongs behind bars, not the oval office."

I've stated in another post what I think Ds shld *do* at the moment. but everything they do shld be wrapped in "we're Americans, the billionaires don't get to rule us" language. this isn't just true but polls are screaming that people don't want billionaire rule. (self womps blocked on sight)

This is dumb. Proposing new legislation appears to concede that what they’re doing isn’t already illegal. And when you lose they’ll point to the failed attempt as proof.

D “leaders” … please read and act accordingly.
