Today after church I got asked this, "When Jesus died, did he die for like, everybody, or just those of us who accept him?" The person asking this is 13-years-old, has been coming to church for just 8 months, with no previous experience with Christianity. Interesting, huh?

Excellent article.

If I decided to self-publish, there are only two questions I would ask of prospective service providers: What is your relationship to Amazon? What is your relationship to Ingram? Self-publishing need not be 180° removed from landing a deal with a major publishing house if you've got good options.

This is Jesus’ military parade. This is how Christ became King. There is the way of the world— And there is the way of Jesus. There is the way of the Beast— And there is the way of the Lamb.

Delighted to have Mike Mason, author of The Meaning of Marriage joining us today at C201 as a guest devotional writer. christianity201.wordpress.com/2025/06/11/t...

Today I'm finding myself again struck by the massive disconnect I experience each time I uncover someone who has started a blog or website because they want to reach the internet world, but insist on using the King James Version as their base text. I had no clue what one particular verse meant.

A Christian book about Satan? That doesn't happen everyday! paulwilkinson.wordpress.com/2025/05/30/g...

I thought it was a bit extreme that InterVarsity Press was charging $16.99 US / $24.99 CA for a 120-page, pocket-sized edition of Francis Schaeffer's Escape from Reason, but Alex Blount, IVP Senior Sales Manager wrote me back today and made it clear they are a business, using the word twice. .../2

You cannot use dubious eschatological theories about the modern nation-state of Israel concocted from a dispensationalist reading of apocalyptic texts to jettison the clear teachings of Jesus as found in the Sermon on the Mount.

That other, very similar social media platform has logged me out on all my devices. Spent 15 minutes last night trying to remember a password I created 14 years ago. Finally had to give up. Another strong argument for using this one instead.

I'm currently reading A Devil Named Lucifer, and as he did with A God Named Josh (a book about Jesus) author Jared Brock leaves no stone of research unturned on a subject rarely discussed in such detail.

Looking for a ministry opportunity? You can have real impact simply texting friends while they pass the time waiting in ER, or for their car repair to be completed, or at the airport, or are just lying in the backyard.

Anyone know why the engineers and designers at Opera decided to sabotage their own Android browser?

My wife's sense of humor...

Just got a note on that *other* platform to the effect, "When we are convinced there is a human behind this account we will engage with your content." Sure enough, the thing I posted 11 hours ago has not been seen by anyone. Thanks, Leon Skum.

My wife Ruth knows all about the obstacles to women in ministry. Here's her (somewhat subjective!) review of Beth Allison Barr's book Becoming the Pastor's Wife. paulwilkinson.wordpress.com/2025/04/07/a...

I'm thinking of organizing a planned community for insomniacs, people who feel they are inherently nocturnal, and some people who just like to stay up late. I'm going to call it Owl City.

About 1,800 people in a room. The speaker invites people to repeat a prayer. He then asks people who prayed the prayer for the first time to raise a hand. Next to you, the hand of the 14-year-old boy you brought with you immediately goes up. Wow! I wish an experience like this for all of you soon.

Continued rhetoric from Washington this week involving Canada and Greenland. What I want to know is, what did Panama do to get themselves off the daily news cycle? What's the trick to falling off his radar?

Can anyone just invite themselves to Greenland? Is accommodation provided? I've never been, this seems like an opportunity.

In the life of Jesus, men are just ordinary, but women are extraordinary. Historians 100 years from now... "Just a short look at the covers of two published works by Evangelical theologian John MacArthur indicates he esteemed women higher than men, and no doubt endorsed them in his public ministry."

The game you'll be hearing when kids under 12 hit the swimming pools this summer: "Marco" "Rubio" "Marco" "Rubio" ...etc.

He doesn't understand how an international balance of trade works. He doesn't understand how a value-added tax system works. He doesn't understand how a parliamentary democracy works. He doesn't understand how diplomacy works.

Tonight I'm wondering if and when, in light of current events, there will be a falloff in the spiritual leadership role America has enjoyed; whether there will be a cutback in invitations for U.S. Christian leaders to speak overseas, a decline in the sales of books by American Christian authors.

When a new leader comes to power, this is God's ideal plan for what that should look like, as recorded in Deuteronomy 17:18-20 and rendered by Eugene Peterson in The Message.

I have a theory to explain what's happening. America has entered the Orange Upside-Down, where Russia is our ally and Canada is our enemy.

We will not bow down. “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter… we want you to know that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold that you have set up.” -Daniel 3

My friend Randy just posted a video of his grandkid solving Rubik's cube. You could look at that and say, "I wouldn't know where to begin." Not me. I know exactly where to begin. I just don't know how to finish.

Apparently there is a guy in our town who is strongly voicing his opposition to the local interdenominational youth group planned presentation of The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe, because he can't see past the word 'witch' and is telling people they are doing a play all about witches.

The Pope's health concerns have been pushing the President off the top of the news cycle to the point that I would expect some are hoping that the President also becomes critically ill.

Several people have commented that the pictures of Elon Musk's child playing under the resolute desk in the Oval Office bring back memories of John, Jr. during the Kennedy administration. But no one is pointing out that the richest man in America apparently can't afford either a nanny or daycare.

So let's get this straight: The U.S. and Elon are now extorting Ukraine and threatening to turn off their Starlink Internet access unless they give their critical rare earth minerals to the United States? Staggering levels of corruption.

Shortly before I joined Bluesky, our son in Toronto had some spare time and put together this arrangement of the worship song Refiner's Fire by Brian Doerksen. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zl7B...

Those of you onboard with rapture theology are familiar with artist renderings of bodies flying toward the clouds while clothing lies in chairs and on floors, but last night after struggling with a pair of skinny jeans it occurs to me that they would need to be depicted inside out.

A Leger Marketing online poll suggests 27% of Canadians now see the United States as an "enemy" country. And he's only one month in. The will of one man destroying decades of great relationship.

Whatsoever you do to the least of these, you do to me. -Jesus

Please tell me it's a parody or something and that they're not serious.

With 30+ million books sold to date, Christian fiction author Janette Oke turns 90 one week today and is just releasing her latest novel, in an entirely new genre and from a different publisher, Tyndale House. It's never too late to tackle that next creative project.
