How many of us come from families so dysfunctional that low or no contact is requirement for our own well-being? I'm dealing with a heartbreaking family matter and the terms of engagement (so to speak) are impossible. All while the world burns, too. I never knew I could be this sad all at once.

I need to clear the driveway ahead of a doctor's appointment, but all I want to do is sit still with coffee, watching the snow globe world from the comfy living room. It's a bougie problem, but it's *my* bougie problem. And who knows how much longer we're allowed bougie problems?
