an annoying superpower I have acquired in the past few years is spotting when the same locations are used in vastly different movies/shows

equal parts thrilled and jealous that i am not cookbook blogging during this australian plagiarism scandal

ChòpnBlok's brick-and-mortar restaurant in the Montrose neighborhood expands—and dresses up—the dishes it became known for at Post Market food hall. You can read @paulaforbes.bsky.social's first review here: www.texasmonthly.com/food/chopnbl...

"Simply put, my duty and privilege is to recommend where you should be eating." Upon the release of her first review, @paulaforbes.bsky.social breaks down what readers can expect when it comes to her restaurant and dining coverage.

one of my favorite stories from when i worked at eater: we snuck a friend of mine into restaurant wars during the texas season (2011). we had to erase any digital connection we had (unfriended each other on fb) so production wouldn't know. i felt very cool like a spy

We've got a real treat today over at TM: a @paulaforbes.bsky.social double feature! Her much-anticipated first restaurant review AND a "manifesto" of sorts on how she plans to approach her job in the era of influencers and Resy. www.texasmonthly.com/food/chopnbl...

I love @paulaforbes.bsky.social's intro essay on @texasmonthly.bsky.social talking about her approach to restaurant reviews and reporting on Texas foodways. Everybody eat what Paula tells you to eat!!

what is texan cuisine? it's my lucky, lucky task to find out

in february, i went to houston for one bitterly cold week and ate as much as i could. the best place i went during that trip is the subject of my first @texasmonthly.bsky.social review: chopnblok in montrose
