In the post an order from Strips & Zo. Great comic strip shop about 50 minutes by train north of Amsterdam Airport to Alkmaar. The newest Suske en Wiske albums and some exhibition catalogues of museums I need to visit. Two of which are on the Donald Duck Weekly.

It's bad enough the custom charges on comics, then the delays with comics in customs. Now An Post have admitted they "can't find" a comic I was due in December and arrived in customs in January and that I paid customs fees on.

Interesting Tintin and Asterix exhibitions starting soon and it's possible to see both in one day of you fancy a 4 hour scenic train journey through Switzerland.

March 3rd 1983. Herge passed away.

Spotted this on FOC this week. Great to see it being published in English it's the Smurfs but not as you know them or think you know them. I read it when it was published in Belgium and I'd recommend it if your looking for something new to read.

First time I can recall the Beano using the term "Graphic Novel" with this Bananaman Graphic Novel which is free with this week's Beano. It's an edited new version of the Bananaman 40th Anniversary Beano released in 2020. I've included some edit panels below.

On this day in 1913, Willy Vandersteen was born. The grandmaster of Flemish comics! #happybirthday #studiovandersteen

This is really bad news Diamond UK will no longer distribute Mad Cave Studios in the UK and Ireland. Comic stores will not be stocking Mad Cave titles such as Gatchaman, Flash Gordon, or Defenders Of The Earth bleedingcool.com/comics/diamo...

"Forget Absolute Batman. Forget Ultimate Spider-Man. Forget Batman: Hush 2, a new Amazing Spider-Man #1, Batman #1 and Superman #1. Also, forget Dog Man and One Piece." bleedingcool.com/comics/bests... Hyperbole ? Perhaps not

A day trip to Dublin to a few comic book shops to pick up my weeklies and a few extra treats 😀 new issue of LOLZ arrived in the post and waiting for me when I get home.

Alright, what's your #comicsdna? The comics & books that were formative to you. At least four, more if you're nasty.

The three versions of Bananaman from Nutty, Dandy and Beano meet in this week's Beano !!!.

The behind the scenes of Herge's Tintin series from the beginning to the end. Roughly every 2/3 months till Tintin's centenary in 2029. In french but a beautiful look into the creation of the Tintin books. These early books aren't the best & quite controversial with its depictions of various groups.

One of the classic Jurassic Park scenes by artist Nick Roche.

So DNA analysis I'm 6% Dutch which might explain my frequent visits to Belgium and developing interest in Dutch comics and in particular Willy Vandersteen.

Enniscorthy's Lystus Ebosele made her debut on Gladiators tonight.

Sad news though I probably only met him once or twice. Bruno was really helpful with comic related enquiries in various emails over the past few years. He will be missed

Great stuff Beano 12th February a special Bananaversary 👍

The nostalgia-fueled comic period of 80s/90s properties continues with the announcement of Captain Planet.

I often take comic book trips to Brussels and last Thursday flew over to see 8 different comic book related exhibitions and squeeze some books into my carry on bag 🎒. A great but exhausting day . Here is some highlights.
