Didn't realize til now Phil Collins' Two Hearts was cowritten by Lamont Dozier. More HDH Motown magic. youtu.be/SidxJz94Svs?...

NSW considers moving Sydney Harbour’s last working port for homes www.afr.com//politics/ns...

"Habits in the media mean that the overwhelming focus of much reporting since the election has been on the future of the Coalition as if it really, really mattered ... instead of dismissing the brawling as the death throes of what are now effectively a group of small fringe parties." 🎯🔥🔥🔥

New freelance piece by me for @crikey.com.au on the scramble inside the govt to respond to Trump's ethnic cleansing proposal

Yes I'm aware it's called a cappuccino because the brown and white foam resembles the robes of the Capuchin monks. I'm still calling it a cup of chino.

Sussan Ley has always looked for a political narrative - the only one which has remained consistent is she doesn’t truly believe in anything. Which makes her perfect to lead the leftover Liberals www.thenewdaily.com.au/news/politic...

One day I'm just gonna wake up and declare I'm the Envoy to the Pacific Ocean.

Albanese just endlessly shuffling Plibersek from portfolio she wanted (education) to ones where she has to use her progressive cred to protect his left flank while getting little done (environment, social services).

My reshuffle take: Too many envoys. Not a thing.

Today's blog post is an analysis of the progress of the Senate count. While there are seats in play in five states, the left has done very well, with Labor potentially picking up a number of seats usually won by the right. Their main opponents in those close races are One Nation. #ausvotes

Does anyone else now just hate/fear picking up their physical mail? Like, it's just going to be speeding fines. Nothing good in there. The Bad News Box.

Folks, a special request for a personal project: is there anything about the way politicians conduct or media report election campaigns you find confusing or misleading? DM me if you want a basic answer. Or reply if you're happy to just post thoughts without response.

That's my takeaway from this as well. Everything we now (rightfully) recognise as cringe would (by some - not you Cam) have been treated as genius/the secret sauce if the Tories had won. We need better means of measuring impact than credulously swallowing campaign PR. bsky.app/profile/came...

Finally having a lieu day tomorrow. A shame the Ninefax EBA requires me to spend it watching the entirety of Married at First Sight. (*This is a joke. I love MAFS and this is not in the EBA)

Forget Albo being the first PM re-elected since Howard. He may be the first PM to beat TWO opposition leaders (Dutton, Bandt) nationally and in their own seats, taking out the next generation of leaders while he's at it.

He's going to find Leaving Atocha Station a very frustrating read then (niche tweet) bsky.app/profile/abcn...

Well well. Not bad for 2023!! x.com/Paul_Karp/st...

My takeaways from 100+ voter conversations in Sydney and Central Coast in past months: * Cost of living no1 issue but nobody really blames Albo * Hardly anybody has heard of any of the solutions on offer * People think Dutton = Trump Coalition seem cooked. www.afr.com//politics/fe...

Voting so genteel in Balmain they even let the markets A frame have prime position.

i swear to god all the coverage of this "youth" election because millennials and gen z will be the majority of the electorate... SIR there are millenibals in their mid-FORTIES the oldest gen zs are nearly THIRTY.

Peter Dutton is so toxic to Chinese Australian voters that Liberal candidate, Scott Yung, is telling voters Dutton is “not going to be there forever” His mother is also telling people that “just because Scott gets elected doesn’t mean Dutton will” www.afr.com/politics/fed... #ausvotes #auspol
