WTF is this - why is NPR quoting some obscure health policy guy from a think tank both sides-ing miasma theory?

I’m in LA today and sadly unable to protest. But if you see this kickass sign in Madison, that’s my friend Kristen!

👇🎯 The moment the Republic stopped functioning was not January 6. It was the second impeachment acquittal in the Senate on February 13, 2021.

Thread. I don't need to say 'May her memory be a blessing', because it clearly will be. But may she rest in peace.

Well past time for big city mayors to call for the arrest of anyone who claims to be law enforcement but wears a mask and/or won’t identify themselves

In ethics we used to call situations like this a “thought experiment”

The confirmed* #measles count in the US so far in 2025 (*undoubtedly an underestimate) stands at 1197 as of 6/12, per #CDC. Another 78 cases would surpass the 2019 count, which is currently the highest yearly total since measles elimination in the US in 2000 — & we're not yet 6 months into the year.

Filed out of an Ani DiFranco concert next to Dennis Kucinich.

I've been planning to bring this book to read on the plane today, but then I just noticed the endorsement on the front. So first I gotta find a strip of opaque painter's tape. Second, a good example of "don't judge a book by its cover".

Pledging to liberate a city from its democratically elected leadership seems pretty authoritarian to me.

Kamala Harris didn’t provide enough detailed answers about her policy agenda 🤔 bsky.app/profile/mcop...

As a Tulane alum I am angry and disgusted at this news. A university bowing to political interference to quash important work protecting the most vulnerable from the most powerful. An absolute disgrace @tulaneu.bsky.social

For better or worse, EPA generally deems environmental impacts relevant only when impacts are monetized. Yesterday's repeal of emissions standards for power plants studiously refused to monetize any climate impacts at all, which let the decision turn entirely on "regulatory compliance costs."

Kennedy appointed Robert Malone to the top vaccine advisory committee ACIP. Malone is one click off Andrew Wakefield. He thinks the covid shots killed 17 million and that bird flu vaccines are a deep state psyop.

You and your children will breathe more air pollution because of this action. People will have more asthma attacks. People will have more heart attacks. All while climate impacts accelerate.

I don't know...did Steve Levitsky do <anything> else relevant, @washingtonpost.com? Like, literally <write the book> about this topic? What are we doing here? 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Where were these parentheticals when journalists were quoting scientists from fossil fuel-funded think tanks?

EPA formally proposed to repeal all greenhouse gas limits for power plants. It argued power plant emissions are "not significant" and "a small and decreasing part of global emissions." It adds that "cost-effective control measures are not reasonably available." www.politico.com/news/2025/06...
