A thing I miss in modern film scores - with their use of sample packs & plugins - is the captured noise from the recording rooms. The little clicks of the string section resting their bows, the tiniest shuffle of a chair. Jerry Goldsmith’s Alien OST is full of that stuff in its quieter parts
