The sun is out this week in the Pacific Northwest, so I thought I would post a few more #hiking in the snow photos. Hoping we get some more snow days, but also looking forward to spring.

Seen while #hiking yesterday.

Tried Nordic skiing for the first time. Fun. Pictures near Snoqualmie Summit, WA.

A few more #snowshoeing and #hiking photos, Grace Lakes at Stevens Pass, WA.

#snowshoeing and #hiking near Snoqualmie Pass in Washington State. There was about an 12"-18" deep track to follow, but we did have to break some new trail for a bit, which was fun.

2025 #hiking season is shaping up to be a real bummer. We are going to see record numbers of trails closed, since the Republican Party has decided tax cuts for $Billionaires are more important. Here is a photo posted at a local trail. I imagine a #PCT thruhike will be out of the question.

Sorry - Political Rant - The Republican Party sucks. Is this the future they want, where we are unable to do the things we used to do. Absolutely ridiculous that we are cutting the forest service, to what end, so Elon and his buddies can get a tax cut. Thanks Republicans, this is on you 100%.

Beautiful #hiking on Rattlesnake Mountain, near North Bend, WA. Lots of snow, fantastic scenery.

Followed the coyote tracks #hiking in the snow. Coyote was probably on its rounds, looked like it was on the same track I was for over a mile.

I love #hiking on trails where I am the first footprints in the snow. Doesn't always happen, and often animals beat you to the trail, but it is nice when it does happen.

A few photos from today's #hiking.

Snowy walk this morning #hiking on the Tolt Pipeline Trail, Woodinville, WA

Places to sit and contemplate while #hiking in the Pacific Northwest.

Another of my few and far between political rants: How can rescinding all of the National Park part time and summer jobs be something the right wing wants? At one point in time, the Republican Party was 100% in favor of the parks, now they just want to destroy them. Pathetic

#Hiking in the mountains near Seattle, WA there were a bunch of coal mines dug in the late 1800's and early 1900's. There are some fun hikes you can take to see the old mines, plus some nice waterfalls. This set of photos is from Cougar Mountain, which is the first mountain east of Seattle.

Sunrise #hiking on the Tolt Pipeline Trail near Woodinville, WA. It was about 22 degrees at sunrise, but clear blue skies yesterday. The views were very nice, both at sunrise and later. Cascade mountains in view at sunrise, Olympics in the daylight pictures.

More photos of #hiking in the snow in WA State.

Just after sunrise, nice view of Mt. Rainier while #hiking the Cross Kirkland Corridor near Redmond, WA

#hiking to Lake 22, near Granite Falls, WA. What a beautiful place, super busy with lots of people, but I think worth the crowds on the trail.

More Snowshoeing and #hiking pictures from Stevens Pass, WA.

#hiking and #snowshoeing to Skyline Lake at Stevens Pass, WA. Cold, but sunny day for a nice uphill hike to the lake. Finally made it to the snow, yeah!

A few random #hiking photos from the archives. All from WA state hikes.

Back to #hiking in the Redmond, WA watershed preserve. You can loop together a pretty nice 8 mile hike within the trail system. Interesting fact, the area was logged out in the late 1800s, but you can still see evidence of the springboard notches today.

#Hiking the coast near Monterey, CA and Carmel, CA last year. Saw some fun waves, an otter mom and her pup, a Brewer’s Blackbird and a picture of the "Butterfly House" which reportedly sold for US$29 million.

Looking forward to some winter #hiking and snowshoeing in the Pacific Northwest this year. Fingers crossed that we get some cold weather, at the current rate we are going it will be Feb before we see it.

#hiking along the Cross Kirkland corridor trail means you have to take a short detour to the waterfront. Kirkland, WA. #pnw #travel

Now that is a big root ball. #hiking in the Pacific Northwest #pnw
