When I was a boy, we had Lincoln’s birthday and Washington’s Birthday. Then they added the other presidents in and suddenly, on net value, it was only worth one holiday.

Under fascism, no one is safe. Universities stayed quiet as the admin targeted DEI & foreign aid, censored research, etc. Now, they face devastating cuts to indirect cost rates, threatening research & operations. Silence won’t protect institutions. It won’t protect people; it never does.

They said don’t make science political But now scientists aren’t getting paid They said don’t make science political But now we’re backing up our data in fear of losing access to servers They said don’t make science political But now our colleagues fear coming to work…

Anytime anything is clarified these days

The bald eagle is the symbol of the USA because of its strength and freedom. Also, we’ve trained this one to parade around a stadium during our national anthem without flying away all for a small piece of meat.

America is not about deportations. America is about sushi restaurants ran by Fujianese with Guatemalan chefs.

A wise take. The point is to live. Help when you can, but smell some roses, too.
