I've bought this card for my vinyl-obsessed other half. I love Gail's stuff, and it's good to support small businesses.

@rebeccarideal.bsky.social This is a really interesting article, particularly after just discussing River Kings.

The pathetic fallacy is alive and well... www.bbc.co.uk/weather/vide...

@rachelburden.bsky.social Edwin Tate made it to the end of the 106-mile Challenger South with just 18 minutes to spare. That's definitely a Spine story to celebrate. It's not just the winners that we should cheer!

Go, Edwin! He's currently due to finish the Challenger South 5 minutes ahead of the cut-off time. An amazing achievement to finish the race in these conditions. I so want him to get a Finisher Medal. #MontaneSpineRace #SpineRace

Some books I've enjoyed this year... Killing Thatcher by Rory Carroll. I was a teenager when the Brighton bomb happened, so remember the shock it caused. This is a gripping read about the context in which it happened and what came next.

I really enjoyed the Van Gogh exhibition at The National Gallery. Especially as my late dad loved his work, so I felt like I was visiting for him as well as me.

I've got the usual post-Christmas problem: which one to read first... @bendorgrosvenor.bsky.social @rebeccarideal.bsky.social @patriciawolfcrime.bsky.social @shonamaclean.bsky.social @christinamartin.bsky.social

I remember my mum taking me with her to vote in the referendum to remain in the EEC (as it was then) in 1975 (she voted Yes). And yes, I am still gutted at the result of the referendum I was able to vote in.

I loved this book (and not just because I'm from Nottingham and grew up visiting Newstead Abbey). Definitely recommended if you enjoy social history and dysfunctional families.

There are two brilliant and free exhibitions on at Lakeside Arts at @uniofnottingham.bsky.social: Grayson Perry: Man Hours and Paula Rego: Visions of English Literature. For me, the highlights were Perry as Margaret Thatcher and Rego's interpretation of Jane Eyre.

Terry Hall 🥰 #totp

Tickets acquired. This *is* significant.

This book by @drjaninaramirez.bsky.social is great. It shows that medieval women lived rich, complex lives and had agency, power, and influence. A really good companion piece to the Medieval Women In Their Own Words exhibition at @britishlibrary.bsky.social

A Viz pencil *and* a bar of my favourite chocolate! @christinamartin.bsky.social knows how to cheer up a frosty Thursday morning 😀

Forget Oasis tickets, I spent 4 hours queuing today to secure these beauties.

This will be brilliant if it works. I'm familiar with the current situation, and the amount that some providers charge is an absolute scandal. Companies enter the business with no care about standards because potential profits are enormous. And we are the ones paying through our council tax.

I have an online ticket as I'm going to be in Manchester seeing The Human League that weekend. I'm delighted that my love of 80s electronica and medieval history can be catered for despite the clash of dates 😀

I was really looking forward to this and am pleased to say that it lived up to expectations. Dr Strangelove is a triumph. @aiannucci.bsky.social

I love Gail's stuff and have just ordered some Christmas cards to send to the special people in my life.
