Oh good Chris Sutton has once again predicted us to lose. I look forward to at least a point. #EFC

“It is not the role of the court to adjudicate on the arguments in the public domain on the meaning of gender or sex, nor is it to define the meaning of the word ‘woman’ other than when it is used in the provisions of the [Equality Act] 2010.” www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

A movie that takes place where you are from

Dear God there are some embarrassingly poor takes on today's UKSC judgment. All from people who are clearly not aware of what the question was and have not read the judgment.

Having now read the judgment, I offer the following comment. The single issue before the court were the definitions of man and woman under the Equality Act: did they refer to biological sex, or did they relate to gender identity. This is the only issue the court ruled on. /1

Highly thought-provoking thread

🚨Some major errors & misleading claims from experienced presenter Nick Robinson on BBC Radio 4 Today, when discussing British Steel with Treasury Minister James Murray I hope these are corrected on tomorrow's programme, and Robinson sticks to the facts in future. Here's what he got wrong... 🧵

Picked up a minor injury so having a week off #running. Always feel at a bit of a loss when this happens. I can do other stuff instead but it's not the same.

Apparently if smoke is issuing from your car bonnet and wheel arch so you call the fire brigade who stop it bursting in flames Admiral say your insurance doesn't cover it because there wasn't a fire! Next time make sure your car explodes and you'll be covered?

See Trump was right. Tariff the little bastards. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Feels almost cruel to point out that all the bollocks about our 10% tariffs being a 'Brexit benefit' lasted for about four days. But here we are...

The Good Friday Agreement was signed 27 years ago today. It was an act of delicate diplomacy, which delivered peace and security to a part of our country where those qualities had long been absent. Those achievements should never be taken for granted.

Well they knew what they were voting for.

Why are gym bunnies so annoying to be near?

Don’t overthink this. He’s asking for bribes.

The explanation for most things is cock up rather than conspiracy.

Brexit Benefit.

Hello and welcome to Unindependence day.

I'm generally pretty left wing but even I'm thinking "how the hell does anyone run a business that needs imports/exports at a time like this. Impossible to plan a day ahead." www.theguardian.com/business/liv...

Looked at poll today and 42% of Americans still support Trump on tariffs. But then I remembered the one that showed that 56% of them were against the teaching of Arabic numerals.

Bullets, probably.

That’s an interesting and quite clever approach that lets you incorporate changes in tariffs as they come

Just had a #localelections leaflet through the door and good GOD! The SDP still exist. Policies appear to be in favour of motherhood and apple pie

“A trillion comments have been wasted accusing the wrong people of Trump derangement syndrome. The real TDS afflicts those who keep seeing a rational actor, or an economic chess game, where none exists.” Me on Trump’s wrecking ball. www.ft.com/content/9f51...

It's funny how the stupidest people of this year - the "Don't worry about what Trump says, he doesn't mean it" brigade - were also the stupidest people of all the Brexit/Truss/Johnson years. It's not funny how they still occupy almost all of the major roles in the commentariat.

I would say that gives away the entire plot but I suppose that anyone who doesn't know the Odyssey is unlikely to go to the movie anyway. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOQQ...

Webb displaying the balance he's famous for on #R4Today

Trump's tariffs are Brexit all over again. People who know about stuff: "this will be a disaster." People who don't: "this will be great."

From a constitutionalist perspective the mad thing is that Congress could stop this at a stroke. The presidency only has tariff-setting powers as provided for by Congress. And Congress can take those powers away. But the Republicans in Congress would rather this happen than to do something.

Well if there's anything to be cheerful about i's that shares in Tesla are down 8.5% in early trading, making it the worst-performing stock on the S&P 500 index
