Forget Putin. #Trump's senior team are all amateurs and new at diplomacy and international affairs. Even if Trump were clear-sighted and honourable, #Lavrov and #Peskov would have them all of lunch. Game over.

#Trump thinks he can simultaneously (a) create a historic settlement in the Middle East and (b) reshape European defence and East European borders. All in a few weeks and with a team of amateur diplomats, while destroying Washington's reservoir of profesisonal expertise. Good luck with all that.
