Musk is like Putin, if he said this then he definitely threatened it.

I have my doubts, strong doubts, but they don't matter because it's the only course of action to be taken. Let's make them care and represent us of leave.

It's been eleven years since Russia invaded Ukraine. Over eleven years of escalating Russian terrorism, armed aggression and genocide Ukrainians have not once thought of surrendering. They aim to win the war. The United States surrendered to Russia without a shot being fired.

been thinking a lot about this quote lately “There must have been a moment, at the beginning, where we could have said -- no. But somehow we missed it.” ― Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead

What a vile piece of shit.

As I said before, the eighth amendment to the US constitution doesn't seem to apply to us trans people.

Media shying away from calling things what they are will be our downfall if this continues. What this should say is: Bannon whipped up CPAC crowd by talking about possibility of Trump unconstitutionally staying in office for third term—and concluded his speech with a Nazi salute like Musk did.

I think the media reluctance to be honest about what Trump and surrogates say and do is a variation on what I've previously called the "reverse straw man" argument, ie *defending* or avoiding criticism of someone on the basis of what they didn't do. "Sanewashing" works too...

This was the moment, just over a month ago, when the ADL could've put an end to Republicans doing Nazi salutes. They didn't. They chose instead to provide cover by calling it "an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm." Now the sieg heil salute has been normalized. The ADL literally had ONE JOB.

Hannah Arendt located the origins of Nazism in the German bourgeoisie’s secretly delighting in the mob’s irreverence. For the fun of having the curtain pulled on their own hypocrisy, Arendt describes, the elite “did not at all object to paying a price, the destruction of civilization.”

Oh, come on. The Conservative Party helped destroyed those places by austerity and Brexit, which together hollowed out local government, abolished RDAs and lost the country Structural Funds. But, sure, let’s pretend it’s all about immigration

Bingo.

It's really depressing to watch a few, really good people in government that could bring the fight to Trump, not get support or leadership roles. Too many top Dems are 100% in it for themselves and they need to go.

"The vocal crowd rose to its feet repeatedly during a one-hour town hall ... [Warren] said, her voice growing hoarse. “We do not want an America that says a handful of rich folks are better than everyone else. We want an America that works for all of us, and we are willing to fight for it.”

To state the obvious as has been observed my countless people on numerous occasions, Dems speaking about red areas 10 percent as harshly as Republicans speaking about blue areas is treated as a massive scandal.

They have the votes to impeach and convict him So they are not helpless They are complicit

This is an article that prefigures very accurately what we will be reading about American (and American based) scientists in about ten months. The collapse of the top scientific research network in the world. www.nature.com/articles/d41...

This is the most wretched campaign of deliberate, explicit persecution the United States has perpetrated against a minority group in decades. Many of the most important people in politics and journalism are busying themselves trying to figure out how little to say or do about it.

"Unfortunately 'never again' didn't come with a manual on how-to-never-again"--Jan Böhmermann

This is how I would respond to the email Musk has had sent to government employees (not legal advice). 1. Refused to violate the law. 2. Refused to violate the Constitution. 3. Refused to bow or scrape. 4. Refused to bend a knee. 5. Deleted this stupid email.

How do you call yourself and not respond to Elon’s emperor BS with, “Dude, call your kids.”

Nate Silver has to believe that Nate Silver and people like Nate Silver are geniuses who deserve everything they got because otherwise he’s just one of a couple hundred guys who did some interesting stuff with baseball statistics and then claimed he was a data genius so could cover all fields.

Coming around to the view that a certain kind of narcissist simply needs Musk to be a genius rather than a fraud, because they want to believe there’s a hereditary Brahmin class of accomplished, beautiful minds—and that they’re a part of that class.

Also, they can't call concentration camps or Nazi salutes by their name. Again, these outlets do great investigative journalism, but it is fully negated by their constant normalization & "reverse emailing" of the fascism. I wish it weren't the case, but it is. Other choices remain readily available.

Running thread of people trying to normalize the sieg heil. It's not an "Elon gesture", it's not autism, it's not your heart going out, it's not parody or trolling. It's fucking despicable. Don't ever let this shit become normal. Fuck any excuse given, there is none. Zero tolerance. 1. Elon Musk

America under the “But Gorsuch”President, right here. Someone with no legal status appointed by tweet at best to threaten the entire federal work force, credibly.

Not trying to alarm people but just noting that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, among their other important functions, is also one of the small number of people explicitly designated for translating Presidential nuclear strike orders into reality. www.doctrine.af.mil/Portals/61/d...

Man he really called it

“Twitter is not real life” they say, as twitter nazis including the richest man in the world tear down the government around them.

Don't Americans understand what is going on? Musk & Trump are destroying the essence of federal regulations against real dangers in order to make further tax cuts for billionaires possible. Next, they are going after Medicaid, because they hate the poor.

By accepting Trump’s anti-Black premise and regurgitating the narrative that equates anything Black as DEI, the NY Times has become part of the propaganda machine

This thread is worth your time.

This is how we need to see what's happening right now--because that's certainly how *they* see it. Think, act, and react accordingly
