Tonight, families across America and around the world gather to celebrate the beginning of Passover. In this season of freedom, renewal and resilience, let us recommit ourselves to the pursuit of peace. From my family to yours, Chag Sameach!

Today, we mark 164 years of diplomatic ties between the United States and Italy — a bond rooted in our shared values. As a proud daughter of Italy, I take immense pride in the partnership of our two countries to defend peace and democracy worldwide.

Was honored to join the Women’s Congressional Policy Institute in celebrating 30 years of advancing women’s leadership. As we uplift the next generation, we carry forward the legacy of trailblazing founders, dedicated leaders and longtime champions – because when women succeed, America succeeds!

Proud to meet with senior Members of the European Parliament during their timely visit to the Capitol this week. As some seek to divide us, we must reaffirm our ironclad commitment as partners to the EU and transatlantic alliance.

The budget passed by House Republicans today steals $880 billion from Medicaid to give tax breaks to billionaires and big corporations. By voting for this cruel bill, Republicans have betrayed hardworking Americans by raising costs for those already struggling to make ends meet.

Grateful to host San Francisco State University President Mahoney and student leaders on Capitol Hill today. Their clarity and conviction was inspiring — on behalf of their campus and all California students, including Dreamers and Pell recipients.

Once again, Republicans are launching outrageous attacks on our elections. The SAVE Act creates wildly unnecessary roadblocks to cast ballots for service members overseas and for nearly 70 million married women—including 7 million Californians. Democrats will not stand for it.

It was a pleasure to speak to the winners of the Congressional App Challenge, including Anna Beischer, the #HouseofCode winner from San Francisco! Anna's app, HerStory, highlights the gap in gender representation on platforms like Wikipedia and empowers users to help close it.

Met with building trades leaders from San Francisco and across California to discuss protecting union jobs, wages and workers’ rights. Their voices and advocacy help ensure the next generation of trade workers can thrive in the Bay Area and beyond.

Honored to meet constituents Lu, Laura and the American Coalition for Ukraine. Their passionate advocacy is a strong reminder of the urgency to support Ukraine’s fight for freedom. The Ukrainian people are not only defending their homeland — they are defending democracy itself.

Donald Trump and Republicans are driving us toward recession with reckless tariffs that are nothing more than a massive tax hike on Americans. His inept trade war is crashing the economy, raising costs and wiping out the hard-earned savings of working families across the country.

It was a privilege to join Baroness Theresa May and Yale Jackson School students in New Haven for a discussion on defending democracy. The insight and dedication of these students give me great hope for the future—and for the next generation of leaders who will help shape it.

The Trump Administration's flagrant ineptitude is tanking our economy in a self-inflicted disaster with hardworking American families bearing the brunt of the pain. Make no mistake: Trump's senseless tariffs will drive prices higher, drain retirement savings and push us to the brink of recession.

Met with AIDS Watch advocates to discuss ongoing efforts in San Francisco and across America to end HIV and expand access to care. Amid the consequences of Trump’s dangerous cuts to HIV research and prevention, we need strong leadership to protect public health now more than ever.

Proudly met with @anca-dc.bsky.social including my constituent, Henry, to reaffirm our shared commitment to democracy and peace. As Speaker, I was honored to lead a delegation to Armenia after the House's 2019 recognition of the Armenian Genocide—now etched forever in Congressional history.

Donald Trump’s reckless tariffs will cause chaos in our economy, raise prices for consumers and hurt hardworking American families. This is not a strategy — it’s the largest tax hike on the American people in history.

“This shortsighted office closure would lead to critical service slowdowns for San Franciscans to get the resources they need and detrimental impacts to our public health response capabilities – all in the name of so-called ‘government efficiency,” Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi said.

Donald Trump and Republicans said they’d lower costs—then moved to slash Medicaid, sabotage Social Security & give tax breaks to billionaires. Rising prices are crushing Americans, and Republicans couldn’t care less. It’s not just bad policy—it’s a betrayal of working families.

On #TransDayOfVisibility—and every day—Democrats stand alongside the trans community with a clear message: You are seen. You are loved. You are valued. You are not alone. While hate and cruelty persists, we remain committed to a future rooted in dignity, safety and respect for all.

It was an honor to join the Greek American community in San Francisco last night to celebrate Greek Independence Day. As we mark 204 years of Hellenic independence, we reaffirm the deep bond between our two nations, rooted in shared values of freedom and democracy.

By disclosing classified U.S. military plans on an unofficial and unsecure messaging app, the Secretary of Defense demonstrated that his incompetence led to recklessness.  It is TIME NOW for the Secretary of Defense to resign.

This week, I was honored to join my colleagues for the release of USCIRF's annual report and highlight the many dangers faced by innocent worshippers worldwide. Freedom of religion is a bedrock human right that transcends borders—and America has a sacred duty to defend it.

Met with @goldengate.org leaders yesterday to discuss resources from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the meaningful progress with their suicide deterrent system. We must ensure our iconic Golden Gate Bridge remains safe and accessible for generations to come.

The landmark Affordable Care Act stands among Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid as a pillar of families' health and financial security. As we celebrate 15 years of the ACA, I was honored to join the Century Foundation to reflect on its legacy and the fight to protect and strengthen it.

Bay Area Rapid Transit is a lifeline for our communities. Today, I met with BART leadership to discuss ridership, timeliness and customer experience. Safe, reliable and accessible public transit is vital to the Bay Area – and we must ensure BART gets the support it needs.

Starting now: "ACA@15: Lessons for Health Reform" feat. Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, video remarks from President Obama, and expert panels on the Affordable Care Act's successes and its future. Tune in: bit.ly/ACA15live

Today we mark how far into 2025 women must work to match what men earned in 2024 — a wage gap that has widened to 75¢ on the dollar. On #EqualPayDay, I joined @demwomencaucus.bsky.social to call on Congress to pass our Paycheck Fairness Act and demand women receive equal pay for equal work.

In my 30 years of experience working with the Intelligence Community, I have never before seen such horrifying incompetence in the securing of our nation’s intelligence. How dare they put our Troops at risk with this cavalier behavior. There must be accountability.

Join us for "ACA@15: Lessons for Health Reform" on Tuesday, March 25! Livestream starts at 1:55 PM ET: bit.ly/ACA15live The event will feature a keynote from @pelosi.house.gov, video remarks from @barackobama.bsky.social, and insights from key leaders behind the Affordable Care Act.

Today marks 15 years since Affordable Care Act was signed into law! As we celebrate the ACA, it seems like a great day to share my first post on here looking back at some moments in its history to tell the story of how it happened.
