Civil disobedience is often necessary. Thank you Chris Kluwe.#civil disobedience

In other news, my painting was accepted into the juried show at the Monmouth Museum. 🎉🎊🎨 (P.S. Tiny brushes were used in painting this scene. LOL! And in case you're interested, that's what Cliffwood Beach looks like in the wintertime. Although, I left out a few fishermen.)

“Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!”

Finished! Bright and colorful, just perfect for dreary winter days.

I made a chemo cap using Caron Simply Soft, which is the recommended yarn for this specific endeavor. The pattern is easy! It's BELLA, by Knots of Love. (cdn.prod.website-files.com/55bfc37944fd...

A mini movie my publisher made by my book! Check it out.

It's time for romance! Go to www.penelopemarzec.com and escape to love.

Less than a month from now I will have an online interview at the Wayne Public Library on March 3rd at 7 PM. I have no idea what questions the librarian will ask, but I’ll do my best to answer them, though talking about writing and my books is always fun.

The breast doctor moved her office to the building with a Jim Gary dinosaur in the foyer. Gary was a fantastic sculptor. You can look him up on Wikipedia. Anyhow, I love his dinosaurs. 💗

It was not a good day to walk on the boardwalk at Ocean Grove. There was too much ice and snow. Still, we ventured onto the pier, but it is still blocked off. The ocean looked great. 🙂 We saw three other people and one little dog. The dog did not look happy.

Grab a cup of tea and read an excerpt from THE KEEPER'S SECRET! penelopemarzec.blogspot.com/2025/01/exce...

Late in the day I went to the beach in anticipation of seeing the NY skyline shining brightly in the setting sun but clouds rolled in. Still, it was interesting to see how the sand has piled up to the top of the snow fences. I saw a fishing boat on its way back to the dock, too.

The painting workshop is back in session and I am back to smearing oil paint all over myself. LOL! Some paint gets on the canvas, too.

I finished a preemie blanket last night. This is the Barclay Baby Blanket pattern. The yarn is LionBrand’s Pound of Love in pastel green.

The view from Mt. Mitchell late this afternoon. It was cold and windy, so I wasn’t out there long. I wish I had my good camera with me. It was the time of day when the setting sun hits the buildings in NYC and they appear to gleam as if they were made of gold.😊

"This is a Christian suspense at it best, and you will be quickly page turning for answers, and when they come, there are many surprises!" Reviewed by Maureen at LibraryThing. www.amazon.com/Keepers-Secr... #PelicanBookGrp #ChristianSuspense #inspirational #romanticsuspense

This is my little thrill for the day. I used the Brushes Redux app to draw a picture of my vinca vine plant a while ago. I thought it might make a nice little note card. So, I ordered it and here it is. Now I’ll have to write a few notes and support the postal service. 😊

I grew up in the 1950s. Not everything was a rosy as some people claim. And children had plenty of chores. penelopemarzec.blogspot.com/2025/01/in-o...

Here are cows doing what cows do best, making milk.

The Navesink Queen is still afloat at the marina. Most boats are on land. The temperature was in the mid-fifties, fine for a walk. But the polar vortex will give us a winter like that of 2013/2014. 😳 The bay froze that winter. 🧊 🧊 ❄️ But so did the Navesink River and the ice boats were out.

Another gift from Daughter #3. It is true that my characters are rather stubborn. 🤣

Go ahead and tell me your entire life story. I’m all ears. 😃 (This was a gift from Daughter #3.)

My blog post for Christmas is a brief excerpt from my first published book, Sea of Hope, an award-winning book. Check it out at: penelopemarzec.blogspot.com/2024/12/a-ch... 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

The angel is ready. The Wise Men are moving closer. Christmas is almost here!

Snow!

This is what is happening to Monmouth Mall in Eatontown, NJ. Kushner Companies bought the property and is demolishing many of the stores. Apartments will be built on part of the property.

I have been trying to alter an easy preemie hat pattern. So far, I like this one. It’s just a half double crochet worked in a rectangle. The pattern I started with was worked in single crochet. I added a crab stitch border.

Making Christmas Again got a terrific review. Lynn Goodwin LOVED it. reedsy.com/discovery/bo... Read the review AND read the preview of the book.

Sweeten Christmas with three short inspirational novellas! They make great gifts , too. #PelicanBookGroup #inspirationalromance #ChristmasNovellas penelopemarzec.weebly.com/christmas-no...

Stir-fried Chicken with Ketchup is a recipe I got from Daughter #1 who found it in The NY Times. It is easy and delicious—my favorite kind of recipe.😃
