Breakdown cover is such a rip-off. Last year, paid £32/month for AA. Renewal wants £46/month. Quote from RAC: £13/month for equivalent cover. Hmmm let me thing about that for a nanosecond.....

I have a low-grade bout of the flu, the dream sequences that accompany fitful sleep are awesome. Last night I dreamt I had 2 cats called Shrow and Dinger.

Dear ISP: I can put up with the service being down for a bit while you mend something, but please stop it going up and down randomly.

Random.....

My local potholes are on the telly? @apiln.bsky.social www.facebook.com/share/p/18Zz...

Am I allowed to feel old? The hip, modern update of Blues Brothers (Blues Brothers 2000) is 25 years old this year. Which is how long ago the start of WW2 was when I was born.

Do I know anyone who needs the services of a remote Agile-trained Javascript / NodeJS / Leaflet.js developer? Just coming off a project, looking for another. (Almost) anything considered. #javascript #nodejs

Things to Remember Tonight: 1. Keep pets inside and play classical music to hide the noise of bagpipes. 2. Keep your haggis in a tin and only take it out when you plan to read a poem to it. 3. Never go back to a lighted haggis. 4. Burns should be run under cold water immediately.

Rolling news is always such a disappointment. BBC News is scrolling through webcam views of water looking a bit choppy in various places, the presenter talks to 'experts' who know no more than she does and are not media-trained so fail to get any information over.

Some level-headed analysis on what the Govt's AI plans actually might mean.. (from @instituteforgov.bsky.social) megaphone.link/NSR8257916342

I don't know everything about AI, almost everyone who's commenting on the govt plans know much less. It's the technology that's important, not the chatbot / image manipulation stuff. Heaps of day-to-day tasks can usefully be supplemented / enhanced / speeded up / personalised if done right.

Me, having discovered an AI plugin for the IDE I'm using 😀 Also me, having spent an hour trying to explain to the AI plugin that it's getting things wrong 😠

Remembering fondly when Twitter was Ev and Jack, and the biggest controversy was whether a dress was blue or gold.
