Very happy to see my Flash Fiction story, Thirty Days We Had September, has been accepted for the National Flash Fiction Day Anthology 2025, @natflashfictionday.bsky.social to be launched on the 14th of June 😃

OMG!!! I have completely lost the plot over here. Speechless!! Thank you @sfreligh.bsky.social and @bathflashaward.bsky.social. Wow! ❤️🙏 Huge congrats to the other winners, SL & LL writers.🌟🌟🌟 And mega thanks to @smokelong.bsky.social for the 2023 'Going There' intensive that prompted this story.❤️

I've just donated another £2000 to our four chosen fuel poverty charities, bringing the total raised by the FUEL anthology of prize-winning flash fictions to £4350! Only a few copies left now - order here if you'd like to grab one before they're gone: www.fuelflash.net

Just finished Only Here, Only Now by Tom Newlands. What an incredible novel! Authentic characters and settings. Great writing, gritty yet lyrical. Although set in various Scottish locations, it really speaks universally to those living below the breadline. One for your TBR list!

The late Vonnegut with a few tips for the upcoming Trumpian blight.

My December #WritingCraft article is a round-up of everything I've published over the last 5 years. If I've counted correctly, there are about 50 resources in total; feeling quite proud to see it all in one place. Hope it's useful! prattlefogandgravelrap.substack.com/p/everything...

Rather than the town square, treat BlueSky like your favourite bar, pub or community. Just like you would avoid or silence snarky, argumentative fascist baiters, avoid them here. Block and don’t engage. Move on to the next cool interesting person. The trolls will eventually leave. Cheers!

@kitdewaal.bsky.social: Ask middle-class people to imagine a working-class community and they might think tower block, poor terraced house, bleak estates, poverty and deprivation … when publishing thinks of a working-class story, they expect “gritty” tales of crime and hardship.’ 🙌🏾

We're excited to announce that the theme for our next anthology is SEASONS. We're thrilled to welcome Cheryl Markosky @cherylmarkosky.bsky.social as guest editor. Cheryl will be joining Karen Jones in reading the submissions. You can read more here: www.nationalflashfictionday.co.uk/index.php/news/

Read my flash fiction story and 74 other great first-prize winning flash fictions in this gorgeous book, all for a worthy cause!

It’s not long now till we announce our theme for this year’s anthology. Watch this space !!.

Really happy to be on the Bath Flash Fiction longlist for the first time and in the upcoming anthology, woohoo! Which is a good enough reason to launch my first post on Bluesky as well 😃
