"Scientific insiders." You mean...scientists? The people who do science and understand it? I'm not saying they're beyond suspicion, but when I look at the US over the past 20 years, I do not have the impression that our major problem is that _scientists_ have too much power.

It is absolutely a threat to real art. I have friends who are real artists, who are in the illustration business, who are losing work to genAI. The point of technofascist capture of the arts is to lower the expectations of audiences/consumers so they'll accept degraded, automated 'content'.

During the rollout of the COVID vaccines, the lack of testing - combined with a raft of misinformation - led many pregnant women to not get vaccinated. @propublica.org wrote this in 2022, but it's just as relevant now with RFK Jr's CDC changing recommendations for the vaccine.

Aside from the fact that anyone can get seriously ill from COVID, a key point they are deliberately hiding when removing access is that COVID vaccines reduce transmission. People choose to get vaccinated to protect other people. It is wrong and harmful to take that choice away.
